Top Tyler Bertuzzi News

  • Blackhawks' Tyler Bertuzzi: Contributes power-play assist

Bertuzzi logged a power-play assist and two hits in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Panthers.

Bertuzzi ended a four-game point drought by setting up a Teuvo Teravainen tally in the first period. The 29-year-old Bertuzzi has been slipping in the lineup lately, but he was back on the second line for this one while Philipp Kurashev served as a healthy scratch. Bertuzzi is now at five goals, two assists, 34 shots on net, 15 hits and a minus-8 rating over 20 contests.

  • Blackhawks' Tyler Bertuzzi: Nets lone goal on power play

Bertuzzi scored a power-play goal on three shots in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Stars.

Bertuzzi's tally at 9:00 of the third period broke up Jake Oettinger's shutout bid, but the Blackhawks didn't find an equalizer. Three of Bertuzzi's five goals this season have come on the power play. The winger has four points over his last five outings, and he's at a total of six points, 32 shots on net, 13 hits and a minus-5 rating through 15 contests overall.

  • Blackhawks' Tyler Bertuzzi: Forces overtime Saturday

Bertuzzi scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Kings.

Bertuzzi has scored in back-to-back games for the first time this season, and his tally Saturday was a clutch one. He tied the game at 3-3 with 31 seconds left in the third period, setting the stage for the Blackhawks to finish off the comeback win in the shootout. Bertuzzi is up to four goals, 25 shots on net, nine hits and a minus-4 rating through 12 outings this season, playing mainly in a middle-six role with power-play time.

  • Blackhawks' Tyler Bertuzzi: Finds twine in loss

Bertuzzi scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Sharks.

Bertuzzi ended a three-game dry spell with his first-period tally. The winger hasn't found much consistency in a middle-six role yet -- this was his first even-strength point of the season. Bertuzzi has three goals, 24 shots on net, eight hits, four PIM and a minus-5 rating through 11 outings overall. Until he can put up offense more regularly, he likely doesn't need to be rostered in most fantasy formats.

  • Blackhawks' Tyler Bertuzzi: Nets goal Tuesday

Bertuzzi netted a goal on the power play in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Canucks.

In addition to scoring his second goal of the season, Bertuzzi logged five shots, two blocks, one hit and a plus-1 rating in 14:51 of ice time. The left-shot winger has scored twice in his last three appearances, but he's yet to register an assist this season. The 29-year-old is filling a top-six role and skating with the top power-play group, but the possibility of Bertuzzi producing offense consistently could take time as he adjusts to his new club.

  • Blackhawks' Tyler Bertuzzi: Buries power-play goal

Bertuzzi scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Sharks.

Bertuzzi gave the Blackhawks a 2-0 lead late in the first period with his first goal and point for the team. The winger signed a four-year contract in July, but he'd gotten off to a slow start while playing on the second line and first power-play unit. Bertuzzi has added eight shots on net, four hits and a minus-2 rating through five appearances. The Blackhawks have an abundance of left-shot wingers, which has forced Bertuzzi onto his off side -- that could at least partly explain his slow start to the campaign.

  • Blackhawks' Tyler Bertuzzi: Secures four-year deal

Bertuzzi agreed to terms on a four-year, $22 million contract with Chicago on Monday, David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reports.

Bertuzzi was reportedly interested in staying with the Maple Leafs, but the club was priced out by this deal from the Blackhawks. The 29-year-old Ontario native is coming off a bounce-back 2023-24 campaign that saw him get back over the 20-goal and 40-point thresholds. Bertuzzi figures to slot into a top-six role for Chicago and could even push to play with Calder Trophy winner Connor Bedard on the top line. That assignment would certainly bolster Bertuzzi's fantasy outlook heading into next season, as could a larger power-play role after he was limited to second-unit duties in Toronto.

The 29-year-old Bertuzzi put up a goal, three assists, 21 shots on net, 22 hits and a plus-2 rating over seven playoff contests as one of the Maple Leafs' more effective forwards. He's set for unrestricted free agency this summer, coming off a 43-point regular season and a one-year contract that paid him $5.5 million.

Bertuzzi picked up an assist, fired three shots on goal and added four hits in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Bruins in Game 4.

Bertuzzi has a three-game point streak (one goal, two assists) after helping out on Mitchell Marner's tally in the third period. Through four playoff outings, Bertuzzi has added 14 shots on net, 20 hits, six PIM and an even plus-minus rating while seeing top-six minutes.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Notches assist in Game 2 win

Bertuzzi emerged with a power-play assist in Monday's 3-2 win over the Bruins for Game 2 of the conference quarterfinals.

Bertuzzi, who was with Boston this time last year, nearly had a two-point night, but what initially appeared to be a power-play tally from the winger ended up getting overturned since he knocked the puck with a high stick during the play. Still, in a matter of minutes, he found John Tavares with a primary apple on the man advantage for the game-tying goal. Bertuzzi's fiery playing style works well in a playoff setting, but it will be important for him to stay aggressive without losing his cool and getting whistled for costly penalties.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Thriving with Auston Matthews

Bertuzzi had two goals and an assist in a 5-2 win over New Jersey on Tuesday.

Bert has been a bit of a revelation beside Auston Matthews and Max Domi on the top unit. The trio has allowed the Leafs to play its stars across three lines instead of top-loading the lineup. Bertuzzi has 42 points, including 21 goals. This is the fourth season he's topped the 20-goal milestone.

  • Maple Leafs' Tyler Bertuzzi: Six goals in last seven games

Bertuzzi scored twice Thursday in a 5-1 win over Washington.

Bertuzzi scored his first on an odd play on clean ice just 18 seconds into the second period. He banked a shot off Charlie Lindgren from behind the net to push the Leafs up 2-0. That goal stood as the winner. In the third, Bert topped off the scoring on another odd play when he knocked down a pass attempt from a Caps defender who was skating out from behind the net. Bertuzzi then wired a shot into a gaping net with Lindgren out of position. Bertuzzi has six goals (eight points) in his last seven games, a stark contrast to the one goal he had in 32 games from the end of Nov. to the middle of Feb.

Bertuzzi scored a goal Wednesday in a 7-3 win over the Capitals, but he saw limited ice time in that contest. He then missed Friday's practice and ultimately won't play Saturday after being labeled a game-time decision. It's unclear if he'll be ready to go Sunday versus the Hurricanes.

Bertuzzi (illness) will be as game-time decision Saturday against Edmonton, per David Alter of The Hockey News.

He logged 14:19 of ice time in Wednesday's 7-3 win over Washington despite feeling under the weather, so perhaps he will be able to play again. Bertuzzi has generated nine goals and 13 points over his past 16 outings.
