Penguins' Noel Acciari: Dealing with illness
Acciari is considered a game-time decision for Thursday's matchup against the Sabres due to an illness, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
Acciari hasn't missed a game since early December, but he's a question mark for the Penguins' final game before the Olympic break due to his illness. Even if he's sidelined against Buffalo, it wouldn't be surprising to see him return to action when Pittsburgh resumes play against the Devils on Feb. 26.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Lights lamp twice in win
Acciari scored two goals in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Rangers.
The fourth-line grinder has only two multi-point performances on the season, but they have come in the last two games. Acciari is having a disappointing season for the most part -- after reaching triple digits in both hits and blocked shots in 2024-25, he has only 44 hits and 31 blocks in 40 games so far this season, but he has chipped in six goals, 15 points and a plus-9 rating.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Garners two assists
Acciari notched two assists, four shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Blackhawks.
Acciari ended a five-game slump with the pair of helpers, both coming on Connor Dewar's goals. This was Acciari's first multi-point effort of the season. He's at 13 points in 39 appearances, one point better than what he did in 79 contests in 2024-25. The 34-year-old has added 49 shots on net, 43 hits, 31 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating while playing in a fourth-line role.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Tallies in win Sunday
Acciari scored a goal on three shots and added two hits in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over the Blue Jackets.
Acciari has scored three times over his last seven games, which is decent production for a bottom-six forward. He remains on the fourth line and is more valued for his defensive skills, so steady offense shouldn't be expected. The 34-year-old is up to nine points, 33 shots, 35 hits, 22 blocked shots and 17 PIM across 28 appearances.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Pads lead with goal
Acciari scored a goal on two shots and added five PIM in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Blackhawks.
Acciari fought Connor Murphy late in the first period before adding a goal in the second. The 34-year-old Acciari continues to be a staple on the Penguins' fourth line, though he's also chipped in two goals over his last three outings. The forward is at three goals, eight points, 23 shots on net, 17 PIM, 33 hits and 17 blocked shots through 24 appearances this season. While he's on pace for his best season in a Penguins sweater, he's unlikely to come anywhere near his career highs of 20 goals and 27 points from 66 regular-season games in 2019-20 with the Panthers.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Pots goal Sunday
Acciari scored a goal and added three hits in Sunday's 4-3 shootout win over the Canadiens.
Acciari ended a four-game slump with the second-period tally. The 34-year-old forward continues to fill a bottom-six role, but he's been effective there with four points over nine games since he returned from an upper-body injury. Overall, he's produced seven points, 20 shots on net, 31 hits, 16 blocked shots, 12 PIM and an even plus-minus rating across 22 appearances.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: First goal of season
Acciari scored a goal Tuesday in a 4-3 shootout loss to Anaheim.
He got the Pens on the board in the first period when his face-off win came back to him after it went off a skate, and he wired a wrist shot past Ville Husso from the left circle. It was Acciari's first goal of the season. He has five points in 15 games, and he's never going to replicate his 20-goal campaign in Florida during the 2019-20 regular season. Acciari's limited fantasy value comes from his ability to hit -- he delivered 180 of those last season, but with his limited contributions in other categories, we can't recommend him.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Draws helper in return
Acciari notched an assist, two shots on goal and three hits in Sunday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Stars.
Acciari returned from an upper-body injury that cost him 12 games. He slotted back onto the fourth line and will likely be there a majority of the time moving forward. Through 14 outings this season, the defensive forward has four helpers, 13 shots on net, 21 hits, 10 blocked shots, 12 PIM and a plus-3 rating.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Back from IR
Acciari has been activated from injured reserve by the Penguins, Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports reports Sunday.
Acciari has missed the last 12 games with an upper-body injury but is set to return to the lineup Sunday against the Stars. Through 13 games, he has three assists, 18 hits, 10 blocked shots and held a plus-3 rating. He will likely resume his role in the bottom six.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Set to travel with team
Acciari (upper body) is expected to travel with Pittsburgh for its two-game road trip, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports.
Acciari won't be an option for Thursday's clash with Tampa Bay, but the fact that he is traveling with the team could be an indication he's nearing a return. While Acciari won't offer much in terms of offensive upside after picking up just three helpers in 13 games this year, he should see plenty of minutes in a fourth-line role.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Set to miss at least three weeks
The Penguins announced Wednesday that Acciari (upper body) will miss a minimum of three weeks.
Acciari was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, and he's facing a multi-week absence due to an upper-body injury that he sustained against the Maple Leafs on Monday. Justin Brazeau (upper body) is slated to miss a minimum of four weeks, so Danton Heinen should have an opportunity to step up for the Penguins after being recalled Tuesday.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Goes on injured reserve
Acciari (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
Pittsburgh recalled Danton Heinen from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in a corresponding move. Acciari will miss at least the next three games, beginning with Thursday's matchup against Washington, after being hurt in Monday's 4-3 loss to Toronto. However, it is unclear when he will be available to return to the lineup. He has contributed three assists, 11 shots on goal, 10 blocked shots and 18 hits in 13 appearances this season.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Injured in Toronto
Acciari sustained an upper-body injury during Monday's game against the Maple Leafs and will not return.
Acciari played just two shifts before departing the contest. If the 33-year-old or Justin Brazeau (upper body) is unable to play Thursday against the Capitals, then the Penguins might call up a forward from the minors, unless they elect to play seven defensemen in the event that they're short up front.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Puts up helper
Acciari notched an assist, three shots on goal and two hits in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Kings.
Acciari has played in four of five games for the Penguins to begin the year, though he is likely to rotate in and out of the lineup throughout the campaign. The 33-year-old has a helper, four shots on net, nine hits, four blocked shots and a plus-1 rating. Acciari's defensive acumen has some value, as does his experience, but the Penguins are looking to see what they can get out of their younger players, which could end up limiting his playing time.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Set to play Wednesday
Acciari (abdomen) was named to the Penguins' roster for Wednesday's preseason clash with Buffalo.
Acciari looks set to make his preseason debut after dealing with a core muscle injury since the start of training camp. In his 79 games for Pittsburgh last year, the 33-year-old center notched five goals and seven helpers. With new head coach Dan Muse taking the reins and GM Kyle Dubas wanting to go younger, the veteran Acciari could find himself watching from the press box as a healthy scratch periodically.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Won't suit up Monday
Acciari (abdomen) will not be available for Monday's preseason game against the Red Wings.
Acciari has progressed to skating in a regular jersey at practice after participating without contact earlier in training camp, but he's not ready to play in a preseason game just yet. The right-shot forward will have two more chances to draw into exhibition play after Monday's game.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Remains out of lineup
Acciari (abdomen) won't be available for preseason action versus Columbus on Saturday.
Acciari has been skating in a regular jersey recently, indicating he has clearance for contact. The 33-year-old had five goals, 12 points, 100 blocked shots and 180 hits across 79 regular-season games in 2024-25, but could see his role reduced as the Penguins may decide to go younger this season.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Not ready for Friday
Acciari (abdomen) won't play in Friday's preseason game versus the Red Wings.
Acciari has been in a non-contact jersey over the last few days. He's on track to be healthy for Opening Night, but it's not yet clear if he'll draw into any preseason contests.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Skating in non-contact jersey
Acciari (abdomen) took the ice Wednesday in a non-contact sweater, Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports reports.
Acciari is slowly working his way back from a core muscle injury that has, thus far, prevented him from featuring in a preseason game. While the veteran forward is expected to be healthy for Opening Night against the Rangers on Oct. 7, he may not actually crack the lineup if new head coach Dan Muse sticks to his guns in deploying a younger lineup this season.
