  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Forces OT but can't get win

Saros made 24 saves on 27 shots in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Lightning on Monday. The Bolts went up 2-0 in the first period, and then Saros shut things down until Nick Paul beat him with a wrist shot in OT. He's one of the best in the game, so his 2-4-1 record is about to improve. So will Saros' .905 save percentage. Keep the faith.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: In goal Monday

Saros will guard the crease in Monday's road matchup versus the Lightning, according to Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site. Saros will make his seventh start of the 2024-25 campaign -- he's posted a 2-4-0 record, .908 save percentage and 2.74 GAA across six games. Even with Nashville struggling to open the season, Saros has been able to post respectable numbers. The 29-year-old has also won two consecutive games, allowing just two markers during that span. Tampa Bay is scoring 3.88 goals per game across eight outings.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Grabs second win

Saros stopped 27 of 29 shots in Friday's 3-2 win over the Blackhawks. Saros gave up the first two goals of the game, but the Predators were able to pull off a comeback. After starting the year with four straight losses, Saros has won his last two games. He's allowed a total of 16 goals over his six starts, though he should be able to get things on track over time as his numbers even out. The Finn will likely get Saturday off, as Scott Wedgewood should start the second half of the back-to-back for his first action since Opening Night.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Starting Friday

Saros will protect the road goal versus the Blackhawks on Friday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Saros earned his first win and shutout of the season in a 4-0 victory over the Bruins on Tuesday. The 29-year-old was not immune from the Predators' rough start, but things may even out now that the team has had a taste of success. It'll help that Saros has a fairly easy matchup for Friday's outing.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Posts 33-save shutout

Saros stopped 33 shots in a 4-0 shutout win over the Bruins on Tuesday. Saros delivered his best outing of the season Tuesday and lifted the Predators to their first win of the campaign. Despite starting the new season with four straight defeats, fantasy owners who drafted Saros shouldn't be concerned by his 1-4-0 record, as the skid was more a result of the Predators' poor overall play rather than Saros struggling between the pipes. Through five outings in 2024-25, Saros has a 2.89 GAA and a .903 save percentage.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Tending twine Tuesday

Saros will protect the home goal Tuesday versus the Bruins, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Saros has lost all four of his starts this season, allowing 14 goals in that span. The 29-year-old's tough start is more a product of poor play from his teammates than it is anything to be concerned about in the long run. The Bruins have scored 21 goals over six games so far.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Surrenders three goals in defeat

Saros stopped 19 of 22 shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to Detroit. The final two goals were empty-netters. Saros has lost four straight starts to begin the 2024-25 campaign, permitting 14 goals on 112 shots. He has allowed at least three goals in three consecutive outings. • Predators' Juuse Saros: Starting Saturday

Saros will guard the home net Saturday against the Red Wings. Saros is still looking to grab his first win of the 2024-25 season after allowing 11 goals on 90 shots en route to a mark of 0-3-0. The 29-year-old goaltender will face a Detroit team that's scored just three times in its last two contests.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Loses third straight game

Saros allowed three goals on 35 shots in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Oilers. The fourth goal was an empty-netter. Saros put in a decent effort, but the Predators couldn't find an equalizer in the third period. The team has started 0-4-0, and Saros is responsible for three of those losses, giving up 11 goals on 90 shots. He also picked up a power-play assist on Jonathan Marchessault's goal. The 29-year-old Saros is the franchise goalie, so he'll be given plenty of runway to play through his struggles. The Predators' next game is Saturday at home versus the Red Wings.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Shaky in Tuesday's defeat

Saros allowed six goals on 34 shots in Tuesday's 7-3 loss to the Kraken. Saros kept his team in the contest until the Kraken exploded for four goals in the third period, one of which was an empty-netter. Through two games, Saros sports an 0-2-0 record, 4.19 GAA and an .855 save percentage. The 29-year-old was dealing with a lower-body injury to start the campaign and missed the season-opener, so it's possible that could be attributed to his slow start. Saros' next chance to rebound will come in a home matchup against the Oilers on Thursday.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Starting Tuesday

Saros will patrol the home crease Tuesday against Seattle. During his season debut against Detroit on Saturday, Saros stopped 19 of 21 shots in a 3-0 loss. Seattle has scored six goals in three games en route to a 1-2-0 start to the 2024-25 campaign.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Gets no help Saturday

Saros turned aside 19 of 21 shots in Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Red Wings, with Detroit's final goal getting scored into an empty net. The veteran netminder kept the game scoreless through the first period in his season debut, but J.T. Compher tipped a point shot past Saros early in the second and the Nashville offense never responded. It was a disappointing result for the Preds given their offseason additions, but Saros appears ready to begin earning the massive eight-year, $62 million contract extension he signed in July.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Starting in Detroit

Saros (lower body) will start in Saturday's road game versus the Red Wings, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Saros didn't dress for Thursday's season opener versus the Stars, but he was able to shake off the injury in short order. The 29-year-old went 35-24-5 with a 2.86 GAA and a .906 save percentage over 64 regular-season outings in 2023-24. Given his heavy workload and strong performances, he is a perennial top-5 goalie for fantasy purposes.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Not suiting up Thursday

Saros (lower body) won't suit up in Thursday's season opener versus the Stars, Nick Kieser of 102.5 ESPN Nashville reports. Saros is battling what's believed to be a short-term injury. The Predators will have Scott Wedgewood between the pipes and Matt Murray serving as backup for Thursday's contest, with both goalies in the lineup against their former team. Saros' next chance to play is Saturday in Detroit.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Questionable for Thursday

Saros is dealing with a lower-body injury and is questionable for Thursday's home game against Dallas, per Robby Stanley of NHL.com on Wednesday. Given that Saros hasn't been ruled out for the upcoming contest yet, his injury might not be major. The 29-year-old had an inconsistent 2023-24 regular season, posting a 2.86 GAA and a .906 save percentage in 64 games, but he had an incredible 14-2-2, 2.25 GAA and .924 save percentage from Feb. 17-April 7, which played a key role in Nashville making the playoffs. Some rough patches last season aside, he's typically been a vital part of the Predators and figures to be so again in 2024-25. If he's not available Thursday, though, then Scott Wedgewood might start while Matt Murray, who was recalled from AHL Milwaukee on Wednesday, is projected to be the backup netminder.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Preseason matchup canceled

Saros and the Predators will not travel to face the Lightning after Monday's preseason game was canceled due to Hurricane Milton. Saros wasn't expected to feature in this contest to begin with, as it was a scheduled final tune-up for Scott Wedgewood. With the game canceled, the veteran Saros will look to Thursday's Opening Night matchup with Dallas. Even with a steady backup in Wedgewood, Saros could still be among the league leaders in games played this season, making him an elite fantasy target.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Perfect in final tuneup

Saros turned aside all 12 shots he faced during Saturday's preseason loss to the Hurricanes. In Nashville's final preseason game, Saros was on the ice for just the first period before being replaced by Scott Wedgewood. Saros has played at least 64 regular-season games and collected at least 33 wins in each of the last three seasons, delivering a 2.73 GAA and .915 save percentage over that stretch. With an eight-year contract extension in his pocket, the 29-year-old netminder should be plenty busy again in 2024-25.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Starting against Carolina

Saros will patrol the home crease in Saturday's preseason contest against Carolina, Nick Kieser of 102.5 ESPN Nashville reports. Saros posted a 35-24-5 record with a 2.86 GAA and a .906 save percentage across 64 regular-season appearances in 2023-24. He will likely be among the busiest goaltenders again in 2024-25 since new backup Scott Wedgewood isn't a threat to steal many starts.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Tending twine versus Lightning

Saros will protect the home goal in Saturday's preseason game versus the Lightning, Alex Daugherty of The Tennessean reports. Saros will make his preseason debut Saturday. The 29-year-old goalie signed an eight-year extension with the Predators this summer, cementing his place as the team's top netminder. He should once again be a workhorse in 2024-25 -- he has played no fewer than 64 games in each of the last three regular seasons.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Signing eight-year extension

Saros agreed to terms on an eight-year, $61.92 million contract with Nashville, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports Friday. Saros technically can't put pen to paper until the new league year opens Monday, but it seems the two sides have already worked out the details of a max-term deal for the netminder. At 29 years of age, and with one season remaining on his current contract, this deal essentially will tie Saros to the Predators for the remainder of his career -- barring a future trade. Considering the Finn has hit the 60-game threshold and 30-win mark in each of his last three seasons, fantasy players can likely expect more of the same heading into the 2024-25 campaign and beyond.
