  • Avalanche's Nicolas Roy: Buries power-play tally

Roy scored a power-play goal on two shots in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Kraken. Roy has scored twice in four outings with the Avalanche. While he was brought in to help the team's center depth, he played on the wing of Jack Drury in this contest. Roy is among the most versatile players on the roster, so he can move around as necessary to give head coach Jared Bednar new combinations. Roy is at seven goals (two on the power play), 22 points, 64 shots on net, 63 hits, 34 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 63 appearances between the Avalanche and the Maple Leafs this season.

  • Avalanche's Nicolas Roy: Gets first goal for new team

Roy scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Sunday's 3-2 shootout win over the Wild. This was Roy's first goal for the Avalanche, and it comes in his second game since he was acquired from the Maple Leafs on Thursday. The 29-year-old now has six goals, 21 points, 59 shots on net, 62 hits and 32 blocked shots over 61 appearances this season. He has started his Colorado tenure as the team's third-line center, though he could also move to the wing if fellow trade acquisition Nazem Kadri gets moved to the middle.

  • Avalanche's Nicolas Roy: Playing against Stars

Roy (not injury related) is expected to make his Colorado debut against Dallas on Friday, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports. Roy has scored just one goal in his last 23 outings while chipping in five assists and 17 shots. If the 29-year-old forward is going to offer Colorado some depth scoring, he is going to need to shoot the puck more. While Roy shouldn't be expected to serve in a power-play capacity, he could see minutes on the penalty kill.

  • Avalanche's Nicolas Roy: Status uncertain for Friday's game

The Avalanche hope to have Roy meet them in Dallas ahead of Friday's game against the Stars, but his status is in question due to his immigration paperwork, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports. Roy was traded to the Avalanche from the Maple Leafs on Thursday in exchange for a 2027 conditional first-round pick and a 2026 conditional fifth-round pick, but it's unclear whether he'll be able to make his team debut a day later. Roy made 59 appearances for Toronto to begin the year, recording five goals, 15 assists, 61 hits, 32 blocked shots and 10 PIM while averaging 14:45 of ice time.

  • Avalanche's Nicolas Roy: Traded to Colorado

Roy was dealt to Colorado from Toronto on Thursday in exchange for a conditional first-round pick in 2027 and a conditional fifth-round pick in 2026. Roy had five goals and 15 assists across 59 appearances with the Maple Leafs this season, his first in Toronto after the offseason deal that sent Mitch Marner to Vegas. The first-round pick in 2027 is top-10 protected, and the Maple Leafs will receive an unprotected first-round pick in 2028 instead. Colorado has three fifth-round selections in 2026, and Toronto will receive the lowest of the picks.

  • Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: First goal in 16 games

Roy notched a goal Saturday in a 3-2 shootout win over the Canucks. It was Roy's first goal and fifth point in his last 16 games. He has 19 points, including five goals, and just 50 shots through 52 appearances this season. Roy has won faceoffs at a good clip (53.5 percent), and he's racked up 298 wins at the dot, but he hasn't been contributing nearly enough to warrant much fantasy attention.

  • Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: Provides pair of helpers

Roy logged two assists, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Panthers. Roy helped out on Easton Cowan's opening goal and Bobby McMann's empty-netter. The 28-year-old Roy is really coming around with a goal and five helpers over his last six contests while occupying a middle-six role with time in all situations. He's up to 17 points, 41 shots on net, 44 hits and a plus-6 rating over 39 appearances. He won't do a lot of anything, but he does a little of everything as a versatile and dependable forward.

  • Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: Four points in last six games

Roy scored a goal and added an assist Tuesday in a 4-0 win over the Devils. Roy's goal -- a tap past Jacob Markstrom's left pad -- came one second after a Leafs power play expired. It was his fourth goal of the season (36 games). Roy isn't a regular offensive contributor, but he does have four points (two goals, two assists) to go with nine hits over his last six games. With Auston Matthews (lower body) out after taking a puck off the foot, Roy may see more opportunity in the short term. It may not be enough to make him a fantasy asset at such a deep position, but the Leafs will go with the hottest hand given their desperate need for points, and Roy seems to be a touch warmer than Scott Laughton right now.

  • Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: Gets goal in 400th career game

Roy scored a goal Saturday in a 5-3 loss to Nashville. It came on the Leafs' first shot of the game -- Roy tipped a pass in tight on an odd-man rush. It was his 400th NHL game. Roy has three goals, eight assists, 35 shots and 204 face-off wins (54.3 percent). He's valuable on the ice, but not in the fantasy arena.

  • Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: Five points in last four games

Roy delivered a two-assist performance Tuesday in a 5-1 win over the Hurricanes. The cerebral pivot has five points, including four assists, and six shots in his last four games. That total more than doubles Roy's output from his first 20 games (one goal, two three assists) in blue and white. Roy also has 32 face-off wins (62.7 percent) in this span.

  • Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: Earns two points Saturday

Roy had a goal and an assist in a 7-2 win over the Penguins on Saturday. His goal came on the power play. Roy has three points (one goal, two assists) in his last two appearances. He has only two goals and seven points through 22 games this season. Roy is excelling at the dot with a 53.1 winning percentage, but his offensive production has been lacking. Roy's goal was his first since Oct. 11, which was the second game of the season.

  • Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: Suiting up versus Jackets

Roy (upper body) will return to the lineup for Wednesday's clash with Columbus, Mark Masters of TSN reports. Roy will be back in the lineup following a three-game stint on the shelf due to his upper-body problem. The Quebec native is currently mired in a 17-game goal drought during which he managed two assists, 17 shots and 18 hits while averaging 15:13 of ice time.

  • Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: On injured reserve

Roy (upper body) was moved to injured reserve Thursday. Roy's placement on IR is retroactive when he was last in the lineup Saturday, so he's eligible to return in time for Wednesday's tilt in Columbus. The 28-year-old has a goal and four points in 19 outings this year. Scott Laughton (upper body) was activated in a corresponding move, and he's expected to draw into the lineup for Thursday's clash against the Blue Jackets.

  • Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: Ruled out versus Blues

Roy will miss out against St. Louis on Tuesday with an upper-body injury, David Alter of The Hockey News reports. Roy is currently stuck in a 17-game goal drought, during which he has registered 17 shots and two assists. At this point, the 28-year-old Quebec native could be in danger of missing the 30-point threshold for the first time since 2020-21 when he was with Vegas. With Roy out, Jacob Quillan was recalled from AHL Toronto and will step into the third-line center role.

  • Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: First points with new team impress

Roy scored a goal and added an assist in a 6-3 loss to Detroit on Saturday. He showed off his hands on the goal with a waist-high tip past Cam Talbot. Roy also added an assist on a goal by Calle Jarnkrok in the opening frame. Toronto acquired the 28-year-old Roy to occupy the third-line center role. However, his positional versatility (RW/C) means fantasy managers can slot him in on the wing where the field is shallower than down the middle.

  • Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: Set to play

Roy (lower body) is expected to play in Saturday's preseason contest against Montreal, per Mark Masters of TSN. Roy will see his first game action of the exhibition schedule after recovering from a lower-body injury. He had 15 goals, 31 points, 107 shots on net and 72 hits across 71 regular-season outings with Vegas in 2024-25. The Maple Leafs acquired him in the trade that sent Mitch Marner to the Golden Knights during the offseason.

  • Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: Remains out of action

Roy (lower body) won't be in the lineup for Thursday's preseason game in Montreal, according to Mark Masters of TSN. Roy has been out of action since Friday. The former Golden Knight had 15 goals and 16 assists across 71 regular-season appearances with Vegas in 2024-25. He is expected to center the third line for the Maple Leafs in 2025-26.

  • Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: Unavailable against Ottawa

Roy (lower body) won't play in Tuesday's home exhibition matchup against the Senators. Roy wasn't able to practice Saturday, and it's not clear how he's progressing in his recovery. The right-shot center's next chance to return to game action will be in Montreal on Thursday.

  • Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: Dealing with lower-body injury

Roy (lower body) won't participate in Saturday's practice. Roy had been skating alongside Dakota Joshua and Easton Cowan in the early stages of training camp. After being acquired from Vegas in the offseason in the sign-and-trade that sent Mitch Marner to Sin City, the 28-year-old Roy will likely center the third line for the Maple Leafs in the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: Avoids suspension

Roy was fined $7,812.50 on Friday for cross-checking Trent Frederic in Thursday's Game 2 versus the Oilers. Roy's supplemental discipline hearing put him at risk of a suspension, but he won't end up missing any time for his actions. Look for him to center the Golden Knights' fourth line in Saturday's Game 3 as the series shifts to Edmonton.
