Flyers' Tyson Foerster: On injured reserve
Foerster (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
The Flyers announced Tuesday that Foerster is expected to miss the next 2-3 months, so his placement on injured reserve isn't surprising. He has 10 goals and 13 points in 21 outings this season. Matvei Michkov should see an increase in his workload due to Foerster's absence.

Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Set to miss substantial time
Foerster (upper body) will be out for 2-3 months, the team announced Tuesday.
More details regarding Foerster's injury may be revealed if the team decides to announce the results of the winger's MRI. The 23-year-old is now slated to be out until at least early February, though it seems probable that it will be longer if the club decides to hold him out through the Olympic break. The Flyers have just two games during the first week of February before the NHL's two-week halt in the schedule in the middle of the month.

Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Undergoes MRI
Foerster (upper body) had an MRI on Tuesday, though the team hasn't released any details regarding his injury, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports.
Foerster was forced to exit Monday's matchup with the Penguins after suffering his upper-body injury. Since returning from a previous four-game absence in early November, the 23-year-old winger scored six goals in 10 games, including one with the man advantage. If Foerster does miss any time, it would likely open up a spot in the top six for Matvei Michkov. While not officially ruled out, it seems unlikely Foerster will suit up versus the Sabres on Wednesday.

Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Injured on shot attempt Monday
Foerster sustained an upper-body injury during Monday's home game versus the Penguins and will not return.
Foerster was hurt on a one-timer attempt in the middle frame and skated to the bench holding his right shoulder, according to Will James of Philly Hockey Now. It was a non-contact injury, so fantasy managers should brace for the worst with respect to Foerster's outlook going forward, at least in the short term. If Foerster is forced to miss any additional time, Matvei Michkov could move up to a top-six role, while Nicolas Deslauriers would be a candidate to rejoin the lineup. The Flyers could also roll with 11 forwards and seven blueliners, which would see Egor Zamula get some playing time.

Foerster scored a goal with his lone shot of the game in Friday's 4-3 shootout win over the Islanders.

With 12 points across 19 contests this campaign, Foerster seems to be on pace to hover around the 45-point mark. For what it's worth, he posted 43 points in 81 regular-season appearances in 2024-25.

Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Two goals in 17 seconds
Foerster scored two goals and placed three shots on net in Saturday's 6-3 win over New Jersey.
Foerster caught fire midway through the first period, when he netted two goals just 17 seconds apart, with the first goal coming nine seconds after a Matvei Michkov tally. Foerster has three goals in his last two games and 10 points through 16 appearances this year. He's warming back up after missing four games with a lower-body injury and should see plenty of top-six minutes moving forward. After a 25-goal campaign in 81 games last year, Foerster projects as a solid fantasy option in standard formats and is a top streaming target in deep leagues.

Foerster scored a goal, took three shots and added a hit in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blues.
Foerster evened things up for the Flyers at the 11:49 mark of the third period with a slap shot. The winger missed four games in a row from Nov. 2 - Nov. 8 due to a lower body injury, and this was his first goal since returning from IR. On the season, Foerster has five goals and eight points across 15 outings. He should continue to find ways to produce as long as he remains in a top-six role in the lineup.

Foerster (lower body) has been taken off injured reserve ahead of Wednesday's matchup with Edmonton, per the NHL media site.

Foerster has missed Philadelphia's past four games because of the injury. He has four goals and seven points in 11 appearances in 2025-26. If Foerster ends up returning against the Oilers, then he'll probably serve in a middle-six capacity. His return would likely also lead to Carl Grundstrom being a healthy scratch.

Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Sporting regular sweater
Foerster (lower body) took the ice in a regular jersey for Tuesday's practice session, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Foerster has missed the Flyers' last four games due to his lower-body injury but is eligible to come off injured reserve prior to Wednesday's clash with Edmonton. If the 23-year-old winger does get into the lineup, it will likely be in a top-six role, perhaps on the first line in exchange for Bobby Brink.

Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Placed on injured reserve
Foerster (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Monday, retroactive to Nov. 1.
Foerster was already slated to miss the Flyers' next few games after getting hurt while blocking a shot against the Maple Leafs on Saturday, so it isn't very surprising to see him land on injured reserve. Owen Tippett or Rodrigo Abols will likely move up the lineup in Foerster's absence, while defenseman Emil Andrae was recalled from AHL Lehigh Valley on Monday.

Foerster scored a power-play goal in Saturday's 5-2 loss to Toronto.
He wired a one-timer from the left circle that beat Anthony Stolarz to cut Philadelphia's deficit to 4-2. Foerster has four goals and seven points in 11 games this season, with three of those goals coming in his last six outings. Foerster is still just 23 years of age, and he's poised to top his 25-goal, 43-point career high, which he set last campaign.

Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Nets lone goal in loss
Foerster scored a goal and added three hits in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Senators.
Foerster scored 29 seconds into the game, but that goal was the only one Linus Ullmark gave up. It continues Foerster's excellent start to the year, which has seen him rack up three goals and three helpers, as well as 13 shots, five hits and a plus-6 rating, over seven appearances. Foerster should have no trouble maintaining a top-six job as long as he's playing at this level, and he should be on the radar for fantasy managers who were hesitant to draft him after he missed part of camp while recovering from an elbow infection.

Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Strikes on power play
Foerster scored a power-play goal in Monday's 5-2 win over the Kraken.

He's at two goals, three assists, 12 shots on net and a plus-5 rating while occupying a middle-six role. If he keeps going at this pace, he'll have no trouble surpassing his career-high 43 points from last season.

Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Records helper
Foerster notched an assist and three shots on goal in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.
Foerster missed time in training camp while getting back to 100 percent after dealing with an elbow infection that required a procedure. The 23-year-old winger has filled a third-line role to start 2025-26, and he's earned an assist in each of the first two games. He's added five shots on net and a plus-2 rating. The Flyers' top three lines are still fairly interchangeable, so Foerster remains in a good spot to build on his 25-goal, 43-point campaign from 2024-25.

He produced 25 goals, 43 points, 142 shots on net and 75 hits across 81 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. Foerster will probably occupy a top-six role this campaign while seeing plenty of action on the power play.

Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Ditches non-contact sweater
Foerster (elbow) practiced with the non-game group in a regular jersey Tuesday, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports.
Foerster should probably still be considered questionable heading into Thursday's preseason game against Washington, but at least he is trending in the right direction. Assuming the 23-year-old winger is cleared ahead of Opening Night against the Panthers on Oct. 9, he should fill a top-six role while seeing minutes with one of the power-play units. Look for him to challenge for the 30-goal threshold this year after racking up 25 in 81 regular-season games last season.
