Kings' Samuel Helenius: Secures two-year extension
Rotowire
Helenius agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with Los Angeles on Tuesday, per agent Dan Milstein.
Helenius has logged just three games for the Kings this season in which he generated zero points, 10 hits and two shots while averaging 7:15 of ice time. At some point, Helenius could be a candidate for the minors, given the lack of minutes he is getting at the NHL level.

Kings' Samuel Helenius: Struggling to get in lineup
Rotowire
Helenius did not suit up in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Senators on Saturday, the 17th time he's been scratched in the Kings' first 19 games.
Helenius' last appearance was Oct. 18 versus the Hurricanes. Head coach Jim Hiller typically doesn't adjust his lineup a whole lot, and the Kings are carrying 14 forwards. That makes it an uphill battle for Helenius to draw in when the team is healthy, which it is at forward. The 22-year-old will offer some physicality when he plays, but there's no telling when that will happen.

Kings' Samuel Helenius: Collects first playoff point
Rotowire
Helenius notched an assist and two hits in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
The helper was Helenius' first career playoff point. He was in the lineup for all six playoff contests but averaged just 3:57 of ice time per game in a fourth-line role. The physical forward had 14 hits to go with one shot on goal and two blocked shots this postseason. He also had seven points, 29 shots, 150 hits and 25 PIM over 50 regular-season outings. Helenius will compete for a steadier role in 2025-26, though it wouldn't be surprising if he spends some time at AHL Ontario next year.

He opened the scoring at 15:14 of the first period and then added the Kings' last goal in the third, which ended up being the game-winner when the Kraken rallied close but couldn't tie it. This was Helenius' first multi-point outing in the NHL. He's posted four goals, three assists, 29 shots on net, 145 hits and a plus-1 rating over 49 appearances in a bottom-six role this season.

Kings' Samuel Helenius: Finds twine Sunday
Rotowire
Helenius scored a goal, added two hits and went plus-2 in Sunday's 7-2 win over the Bruins.
Helenius has two points over his last two games after going 10 contests without a point at the NHL level. The 22-year-old's role is unlikely to change -- the Kings' strong forward depth keeps Helenius locked in on the fourth line, but he's at least played well enough to stay in the lineup. He's at five points, 21 shots on net, 113 hits, 21 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 37 appearances, bringing a physical edge to the roster.

Kings' Samuel Helenius: First helper since recall
Rotowire
Helenius logged an assist and two hits in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Helenius set up an Adrian Kempe tally at 3:03 of the first period. The assist was Helenius' first point in nine games since he was recalled from AHL Ontario on March 5. The good news is he's sticking in the lineup, but only in a fourth-line role that has rarely led to offense or even significant ice time. Helenius has four points, 20 shots on net, 111 hits, 21 PIM and a minus-1 rating across 36 NHL appearances this season.

Kings' Samuel Helenius: Recalled from minors
Rotowire
Helenius was called up from AHL Ontario on Monday.
It seems Helenius' demotion to the minors Sunday was a paper transaction with the forward now officially back on the NHL roster. Looking ahead to Wednesday's matchup with the Sabres, it will likely come down to Helenius or Akil Thomas for the last spot on the fourth line. In his four appearances for the Kings, the 21-year-old Helenius has garnered two assists, four shots on goal and 12 hits.

Kings' Samuel Helenius: Earns helper in NHL debut
Rotowire
Helenius logged an assist, three shots on goal, two hits and two PIM in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets.
Saturday was Helenius' NHL debut, and he didn't look out of place in a bottom-six role. He helped out on Warren Foegele's go-ahead goal in the second period and also won all three of his faceoffs. Helenius took the spot of Tanner Jeannot (suspension) in the lineup Saturday, and the former likely has a chance to audition for a longer stay in the NHL while the latter has two games left to serve on his ban.
