  • Avalanche's Taylor Makar: Nets both goals in AHL win

Makar scored twice in AHL Colorado's 2-1 win over Calgary on Sunday. Makar's offense has come on nicely over the last couple of weeks. He has six goals and three assists over his last seven outings, giving him 14 goals and 23 points across 48 appearances in his AHL rookie year. He's seen a couple of call-ups with the Avalanche but could need another year or two of development before he'll be a regular with the big club.

  • Avalanche's Taylor Makar: Logs three points

Makar scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Colorado's 6-5 shootout loss to San Diego on Tuesday. Makar had missed a couple of weeks due to an injury, but he returned with a big game. He's up to 10 goals and 18 points through 43 outings in his first full AHL campaign, and he also has 12 NHL appearances to his name. It's unlikely he'll get much of a look with the Avalanche late in the season.

  • Avalanche's Taylor Makar: Sent back down Thursday

Makar was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Thursday. Makar suited up in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Sharks but was sent down after the game in order to spend the Olympic break in the minors. In his 12 NHL contests this year, Makar has yet to register a point, recording 17 hits, seven shots and four PIM while averaging just 6:13 of ice time.

  • Avalanche's Taylor Makar: Promoted Wednesday

Makar was recalled from AHL Colorado on Wednesday. Makar figures to slot into the lineup against the Ducks on Wednesday, filling a bottom-six role for the club that is dealing with injuries. In his previous five NHL appearances this season, the 24-year-old winger failed to register a point while generating seven hits, four shots and one block in a mere 5:29 of ice time per game.

  • Avalanche's Taylor Makar: Sent back down

Makar was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Tuesday. Makar made two appearances during this NHL stint, but he is still in search of his first point. The 24-year-old will return to the Eagles and wait for his next NHL opportunity. Makar's demotion suggests Joel Kiviranta (lower body) might be ready to play Thursday versus the Senators.

  • Avalanche's Taylor Makar: Up from minors

Makar was called up by the Avalanche on Friday, per Aarif Deen of Colorado Hockey Now. Makar has six goals, 10 points and 26 PIM in 26 appearances with AHL Colorado this season. He's also recorded no points, three shots and six hits in three appearances with the Avalanche in 2025-26. Makar might draw into the lineup Saturday versus Carolina if Gavin Brindley (lower body) and Joel Kiviranta (lower body) aren't available.

  • Avalanche's Taylor Makar: Back-and-forth continues

Makar has been recalled from AHL Colorado by the Avalanche, the team announced Sunday. The Avalanche certainly are taking advantage of their AHL affiliate's close proximity to Denver. Makar was sent down after being recalled and appearing in Thursday's win over the Sabres, and now he's back up to presumably fill out the lineup for Sunday's contest against the Islanders. The 24-year-old is still seeking his first NHL point and has appeared in two contests this season.

  • Avalanche's Taylor Makar: Returns to AHL

Makar was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Thursday following a 6-3 win over the Sabres. This has been standard operating procedure for the Avalanche when making a call-up to fill out their lineup for a game. Makar played on the fourth line and posted three shots on goal and three hits in 7:11 of ice time in Thursday's contest. It's unclear when his next opportunity in the NHL will be, but he could continue to get looks in the absence of Valeri Nichushkin (lower body).
