Even though Gavrikov plays in a top defensive pairing, he isn't carrying a lot of fantasy appeal in most formats, though he might be worth a look in deep leagues that value physicality stats.

This was Gavrikov's first power-play point in his career. He has not typically been a big factor with the man advantage, but he's averaging 1:38 per game on the power play over his last 10 contests. That usage will dry up once Adam Fox (upper body) is ready to return, but Gavrikov's strong play this year, especially on offense, has afforded him more opportunities. He's at a career-best seven goals with eight helpers, 56 shots on net, 63 blocked shots, 20 hits, 20 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 41 appearances.

He's currently on pace to surpass his career high of 33 points with Columbus from the 2021-22 regular season. Between his offensive contributions and category coverage with blocks, he has solid fantasy value in deep leagues.

Rangers' Vladislav Gavrikov: Signs long-term contract
Gavrikov penned a seven-year, $49 million deal with the Rangers on Tuesday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
Gavrikov managed 30 points in 82 regular-season appearances for the Kings last season, all of which came at even strength. Given his lack of power-play time, the 29-year-old blueliner's deal seems a little steep, but Gavrikov gives the Rangers a top-end shutdown defender to potentially pair with Adam Fox.
