Makar produced a goal and an assist, both on the power play, in Friday's 5-4 shootout win over the Stars.
Both points came in the first period, as Makar opened the scoring early in the frame before having a hand in a Nathan MacKinnon tally with just two seconds left before intermission. Playing for Team Canada in the Olympics seems to have rejuvenated Makar. The star blueliner had just one goal and four points in the last 10 games before the break. However, he has busted out for four goals and nine points in six games since the NHL schedule resumed.

Avalanche's Cale Makar: Posts three points in win
Makar scored a goal on two shots, added two assists and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Ducks.
Makar opened the scoring at 11:33 of the first period and helped out on the Avalanche's next two tallies as well. The 27-year-old defenseman has three goals and three assists over his last three outings. He was quiet heading into the Olympics, but he's on a roll again and should continue to put up big numbers on offense. Makar has 18 goals, 64 points (21 on the power play), 162 shots on net, 99 blocked shots and a plus-34 rating over 60 appearances.

Avalanche's Cale Makar: Lights lamp twice in win
Makar scored two goals, including an empty-netter, put three shots on net and recorded two blocked shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over Chicago.
Makar found the back of the net with just nine seconds remaining in the second period to tie the game at 1-1 before sealing the victory with his empty-net goal in the third. He's up to 17 goals, 60 points, 155 shots on goal and 95 blocked shots across 58 games this season. The reigning Norris Trophy winner is crafting another solid case for the award, and he could be fueled even further to post a strong season following Canada's silver-medal finish at the Olympics. Look for Makar to challenge the 90-point mark for the third consecutive season.

Makar remains one of the most productive blueliners in the NHL, so by now, fantasy managers should be used to seeing him finding ways to crack the scoresheet on a steady basis. Makar closed out the scoring for the Avs with his 12th goal of the season, a snap shot that went past Anton Forsberg at the 19:15 mark of the third period. Makar also snapped a brief two-game stretch with no points -- it was the first time this season that he had gone back-to-back games without cracking the scoresheet. Makar scored a power-play goal, earned two assists and fired seven shots on net in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Wild.
Makar had a hand in all three goals scored by Colorado across the first two periods of Sunday's contest. He assisted the tallies scored by Martin Necas and Nathan MacKinnon before scoring himself on a power play late in the second. With the three-point effort, Makar is up to 11 goals, 32 assists, 105 shots on net and 61 blocks through 35 appearances this season. Sunday's performance came after just his fourth scoreless outing since the start of November. Makar remains the undisputed top blueliner to have in fantasy and is currently on pace for the century mark in points, which would be a new career high if he can continue his current level of production.
