  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Nabs shootout win

Oettinger stopped 17 of 21 shots in Thursday's 5-4 shootout win over the Golden Knights. Oettinger picked up his fourth straight win, but it wasn't pretty. He squandered a 4-1 lead during the third period, but he was able to get back on track in overtime and the shootout. Oettinger is up to 21-10-4 with a 2.69 GAA and a .900 save percentage over 35 starts this season. This was his sixth start in seven games, so it wouldn't be surprising if Casey DeSmith got the nod for one of the Stars' three remaining contests before the Olympic break.

The 27-year-old netminder improved to 20-10-4 with a 2.66 GAA and a .902 save percentage through 34 starts overall. The Stars' road trip continues in Vegas on Thursday.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Solid effort in win

Oettinger turned aside 20 of 22 shots on goal in Friday's 3-2 win over the Blues. Despite allowing consecutive goals between the first and second periods, Oettinger stood strong and didn't allow a goal in the back half of the contest. With Friday's win, he is up to a 19-10-4 record, a 2.65 GAA and a .902 save percentage through 33 outings this season. Following a tough start to the calendar year with a 1-4-1 record across six appearances, the 27-year-old netminder has bounced back well with back-to-back victories. Oettinger holds a bright outlook in nearly all fantasy formats as an essential cog in the well-oiled machine that is Dallas' defense, which ranks third-best with 2.71 goals against per game. His next chance to extend his win streak is in another tilt with St. Louis on Tuesday.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Tending twine Friday

Oettinger will protect the home goal versus the Blues on Friday, Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine reports. Oettinger will get the second half of a back-to-back after Casey DeSmith came up short in a 1-0 loss to the Blue Jackets on Thursday. The 27-year-old Oettinger is 2-4-1 with a 3.31 GAA and an .868 save percentage over seven games in January. The Blues have just 10 goals scored over their last six contests, going 2-4-0 in that span.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Cruises to win Tuesday

Oettinger made 16 saves in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Bruins. The 27-year-old netminder took a shutout into the third period before Morgan Geekie finally tipped a shot past Oettinger on a Boston power play. • Stars' Jake Oettinger: In goal Tuesday

Oettinger will get the starting nod at home versus the Bruins on Tuesday, Brien Rea of Victory+ reports. Oettinger has underwhelmed of late, securing just one win in his last seven outings while posting a 1-4-2 record and a 3.42 GAA. If the 27-year-old netminder can't right the ship soon, he could be in danger of missing the 30-win mark for the first time since 2020-21 when he was a rookie.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Yields three goals in loss

Oettinger stopped 22 of 25 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Lightning. The fourth goal was an empty-netter. Oettinger didn't get the necessary goal support to steer him out of a rough patch. He's lost six of his last seven games (1-3-3), and this was the fifth time in that span he's given up at least three goals. For the season, Oettinger is down to 17-10-4 with a 2.69 GAA and a .902 save percentage over 31 starts. The Stars' next game is at home versus the surging Bruins on Tuesday, who come into that game on a six-game winning streak.

Oettinger will defend the home goal versus Tampa Bay on Sunday, Stars' beat writer Robert Tiffin reports. Oettinger has struggled of late, going 1-3-2 with a 3.48 GAA and an .872 save percentage across his last six starts. Overall, the netminder is 17-9-4 with a pair of shutouts, a 2.68 GAA and a .903 save percentage over 30 appearances. • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Takes hard-luck loss

Oettinger stopped 25 of 27 shots in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Mammoth. Oettinger had another good game, but a goal late in the second period by Nick Schmaltz and a tough bounce on John Marino's tally in the third sent the American netminder to the loss, his fifth in his last six outings. Oettinger has allowed just three goals on 52 shots over his last two games, suggesting he has turned the corner from his struggles in late December and early January. Overall, the 27-year-old has 17-9-4 record with a 2.68 GAA and a .903 save percentage across 30 appearances. The Stars are back at home for a tough matchup versus the Lightning on Sunday.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Tending twine Thursday

Oettinger will start Thursday's road game against Utah, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports. Oettinger has started in just one of the Stars' last four games, but he'll return to the crease Thursday after getting a night off Tuesday in Anaheim during the second half of a back-to-back set. He's been relatively shaky since the start of the calendar year, but he had a successful outing against Los Angeles on Monday, turning aside 24 of 25 shots en route to a 3-1 victory.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Returns to win column Monday

Oettinger turned aside 24 of 25 shots during Monday's 3-1 win over the Kings. Oettinger had been shaky in recent outings, going 0-2-2 with a 4.55 GAA and .835 save percentage over his last four starts. He entered Monday's matchup coming off his worst performance of the season, as he saved just 10 of 15 shots (.667 save percentage) in a loss to the Hurricanes on Jan. 6 before being pulled in the second period. However, Oettinger bounced back against the Kings' lackluster offense Monday, and he earned his first win since Dec. 21. The Stars are slated to face Anaheim in the second half of a back-to-back set Tuesday, and Oettinger will likely get a night off while Casey DeSmith draws the start.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Exits ice first Monday

Oettinger was the first goalie to exit the ice Monday, Robert Tiffin of D Magazine reports, indicating he'll be in goal on the road against the Kings. Oettinger will take the first game of the Stars' back-to-back, which means Casey DeSmith figures to get the nod on the road versus Anaheim on Tuesday. The 27-year-old Oettinger is currently mired in a four-game losing streak, posting a 0-2-2 record to go with 16 goals allowed on 97 shots in that span. Even with Oettinger struggling, he is unlikely to lose the No. 1 job to DeSmith any time soon.

Oettinger stopped 25 of 29 shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canadiens. Oettinger has dropped his last three starts, but two of those losses, against Montreal and Chicago, came in overtime. Oettinger remains an outstanding netminder, but his recent results haven't been the best. The 27-year-old has gone 5-3-2 with a 2.39 GAA and a .913 save percentage over his last 10 appearances.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Starting Sunday

Oettinger will start Sunday's contest against the Canadiens, Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine reports. In his last start, Oettinger allowed more than three goals for the first time since Nov. 8 against the Predators when he surrendered four in a 4-3 loss to Chicago. The 27-year-old is 16-7-3 with a 2.57 GAA and a .907 save percentage on the season. He'll look to cool off the NHL's sixth-best offense (3.29 goals per game) in the Canadiens as the Stars try to reclaim second place in the Central Division.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Yields four goals in loss

Oettinger allowed four goals on 21 shots in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Blackhawks. Oettinger has allowed seven goals on 54 shots over a pair of losses (0-1-1) to the Blackhawks in the last week. The 27-year-old netminder gave up the first two goals on Chicago power plays, and a misplay led to Ilya Mikheyev's decisive tally early in the third period. Oettinger is down to 16-7-3 with a 2.57 GAA and a .907 save percentage across 26 starts this season. He's been sharing the crease with Casey DeSmith lately, though it wouldn't be surprising to see Oettinger between the pipes for Sunday's matinee game against the Canadiens.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Facing Blackhawks

Oettinger will defend the road goal in Chicago on Thursday, according to Mike Heika of the Stars' official site. Oettinger has not allowed more than three goals in his last 14 starts, dating back to Nov. 11. The star netminder is 16-6-3 with a pair of shutouts, a 2.51 GAA and a ,910 save percentage across 25 outings this season. The Blackhawks are tumbling down the NHL standings, going 2-7-1 in their last 10 games.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Loses in shootout to Chicago

Oettinger stopped 30 of 33 shots in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Blackhawks. Oettinger saw the end of his brief two-game winning run, but the star netminder has posted solid numbers even in games where he's not winning. Oettinger has gone 14 consecutive games while allowing three goals or fewer, and that level of consistency has the 27-year-old ranked among the best goaltenders in the NHL.
