Top Gabriel Vilardi News

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Nabs helper in win

Vilardi notched an assist and went plus-3 in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Panthers.

Vilardi didn't have the same success as linemates Mark Scheifele (hat trick) or Kyle Connor (goal and assist) in this contest. Still, Vilardi has kept a strong scoring pace and bounced back from his first multi-game drought since Oct. 20-22. The 25-year-old forward has seven goals, eight helpers, 37 shots on net and a plus-3 rating through 19 appearances this season. He's on pace to challenge for a 60-point campaign, and his 18.9 shooting percentage isn't a huge concern since he's been right around that level in each of the previous two seasons.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Deposits power-play goal

Vilardi scored a power-play goal on three shots and went plus-3 in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Rangers.

Vilardi stretched his point streak to eight games with the tally. In that span, he has six goals and four assists, and four of those 10 points have come on the power play. The 25-year-old looks to be setting himself up for a breakout campaign with 14 points (six on the power play), 35 shots on net and a plus-5 rating over 16 appearances. That's approximately a 70-point pace over a full campaign -- Vilardi's career high is 41 points in 63 outings in 2022-23 with the Kings, though he had a better per-game rate with 36 points in 47 regular-season outings last season.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Scores lone goal in win

Vilardi scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 1-0 win over the Avalanche.

Mark Scheifele forced a turnover at the Jets' blue line and then fed Vilardi for the goal on a 2-on-1. The tally at 1:06 of the first period was the lone one in the game, and it was Vilardi's second game-winner this season. The 25-year-old has five goals and three assists over his last six contests, giving him 12 points, 29 shots on net and a plus-2 rating over 14 appearances. He'll have solid fantasy value as a scoring-only option as long as he's able to play on the top line.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Nets power-play goal

Vilardi scored a power-play goal in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Utah.

Vilardi went goalless in his first six appearances this season, but that drought seems like a distant memory now. The 25-year-old playmaker has found the back of the net in seven of his last seven contests, a span in which he's also racked up three assists, meaning he's tallying more than a point per game in that stretch. Vilardi is not likely to keep producing at this rate on a long-term basis, but he's certainly reaping the benefits of the Jets' strong start to the campaign. He should continue to have plenty of opportunities to produce as long as he remains on the first line of the Jets' offense and No. 1 power-play unit.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Tacks on goal Friday

Vilardi scored a goal on three shots in Friday's 6-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

Vilardi has three goals and five points over his last three games. His tally Friday came late in the third period to close out the scoring. The recent scoring surge has the 25-year-old forward up to four goals, nine points, 18 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating through 11 appearances. Vilardi is a lock for the top line as long as he and the rest of the Jets continue to play well.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Two-point effort in Detroit

Vilardi produced a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Red Wings.

Both points came in the first period, and Vilardi opened the scoring by snapping home a slick pass from Kyle Connor just 2:48 into the game. Vilardi was one of the rare Jets to have a quiet start to the season, but the 25-year-old has now posted back-to-back multi-point performances and has three goals and eight points through 10 contests.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: One of each in loss

Vilardi scored a goal on two shots and added a power-play assist in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Maple Leafs.

The Jets didn't get much depth scoring in their first loss of the season, but the top line was in fine form. Vilardi, Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor combined for all four goals and a total of eight points in the loss. Vilardi hasn't started as well as his linemates but still has two goals, six points (three on the power play), 12 shots on net and a minus-4 rating over nine outings. As long as he's on the top line, the 25-year-old should be a reliable scoring-only option for fantasy managers.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Nets first goal of season

Vilardi scored a goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kraken.

The goal was Vilardi's first of the season. The 25-year-old winger has maintained a top-line role at even strength, but he hasn't enjoyed the same success as his linemates Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor. Through seven contests, Vilardi has four points, eight shots on net and a minus-2 rating. As long as he stays on the top line, he'll have ample upside.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Adds pair of assists

Vilardi recorded two assists in Friday's 8-3 win over the Sharks.

One of Vilardi's helpers came on the power play. The 25-year-old continues to play in a top-line role, and he saw 21:23 of ice time Friday while compiling his first multi-point effort of the season. He's earned three assists (two on the power play) and four shots on net through four contests, but he's not adding much else in the way of non-scoring numbers. That's not unusual, as Vilardi is a skilled forward, but his fantasy value will be closely tied to his offense.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Registers power-play helper

Vilardi notched a power-play assist in Wednesday's 6-0 win over the Oilers.

Vilardi helped out on a Mark Scheifele tally in the third period. The 25-year-old Vilardi is getting the first chance to make an impact on the Jets' top line, playing right wing alongside Scheifele and Kyle Connor. In his first year with the Jets, Vilardi had 22 goals and 14 assists over 47 regular-season games in a campaign disrupted by two major injuries. He could find another level on offense if he stays healthy, but he's yet to play in more than 63 games in a single season after back injuries early in his career and last season's battles with a knee injury and an enlarged spleen.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Can he keep doctors away?

Vilardi set up three goals in a 5-2 win over Calgary in preseason action on Wednesday.

Vilardi is coming off his best point-per-game season (36 points, including 22 goals, in 47 games) and is poised for a career season. Vilardi is poised for regular shifts beside star veterans Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele, and that near point-per-game average could deliver 65-70 points if he can stay healthy. But he's never played more than 63 regular-season games in a season, so have a contingency plan.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Slides assist Tuesday

Vilardi recorded a power-play assist, three shots on goal, two hits and a minus-2 rating in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Avalanche in Game 5.

Vilardi picked up four helpers, nine shots on net, four hits, six PIM and a minus-4 rating over five playoff contests. The 24-year-old had 36 points in just 47 regular-season outings, frequently featuring in a top-six role for the Jets. He is under contract for 2024-25 and should return to a similar assignment, which could put him in line for a breakout year before he reaches restricted free agency.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Adds helper in loss

Vilardi notched an assist, two shots on goal, two PIM and a minus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 2.

Vilardi has earned three helpers through two playoff contests. He's also recorded four shots on net while seeing top-line minutes. His scoring upside is limited compared to his linemates Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor, but Vilardi could have some extra fantasy appeal if he stays in a first-line role throughout the playoffs.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Produces two assists

Vilardi registered two assists, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Avalanche in Game 1.

Vilardi had six goals over the last seven games of the campaign, but his last assist was Feb. 25, two games before he was held out with an enlarged spleen. The 24-year-old has held down a top-line role since his return, and he set up goals by linemates Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor in this contest. It's still early in the postseason, but Vilardi could achieve breakout status if he stays in that place in the lineup.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Adds 20th goal

Vilardi scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over Nashville.

Vilardi got the Jets on the board 6:51 into the first period, beating Juuse Saros with a nifty between-the-legs shot on the power play to tie the game 1-1. The 24-year-old Vilardi now has four goals in five games since returning from a month-long stint on IR. Overall, he's up to 20 goals and 34 points through 43 games this season while skating in a top-line role.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Hat trick in Thursday's win

Vilardi scored three goals on nine shots in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Flames.

One goal was on the power play and the last one went into an empty net. Vilardi had gone scoreless over his last four contests, two on each side of a four-week absence with an enlarged spleen. The 24-year-old is up to 19 goals, 33 points, 108 shots on net and a plus-11 rating through just 41 contests this season. He's seen time on the first line lately, though the Jets' forward combinations remain unsettled. Vilardi's a lock for the top six and should also continue to see plenty of power-play usage, so he's a strong depth option in fantasy.

  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Returning Saturday

Vilardi (enlarged spleen) will be back in the lineup Saturday versus Ottawa, according to Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site.

It has been a tough four weeks for Vilardi, who will return to the top line, alongside Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele. Vilardi missed 15 games and the Jets struggled, going 7-7-1. Vilardi has 16 goals and 30 points in just 38 games this season, including six goals and 11 points on the power play.

Per Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site, Vilardi has been diagnosed with an enlarged spleen, the Jets announced Friday.

Vilardi will miss his eighth straight game Friday when the Jets host Anaheim. He is being treated, but he will miss the upcoming five-game road trip that begins in Columbus on Saturday. Vilardi has 16 goals and 30 points in 38 contests this season. There is no timetable for his return.
