  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Earns win in spot start

Johansson stopped 29 of 31 shots in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Predators. Johansson was beaten in the second and third periods, but overall, he looked competent between the pipes and did enough to support Tampa Bay's comeback in the final frame. Johansson earned his first win since Jan. 12, but given that he rarely suits up for the Bolts, he's not a player to target in most fantasy formats -- even in games where Andrei Vasilevskiy gets a breather.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Gets rare start Sunday

Johansson will tend the goal Sunday against the Predators, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Johansson will get just his third start in Tampa Bay's 15 games during the month of March. The 30-year-old hasn't picked up a win since Jan. 12, posting a record of 0-3-1 in his last four starts. He is 10-9-2 on the season with a 3.26 GAA and an .883 save percentage. After a five-game win streak, the Predators have taken losses in back-to-back games while scoring only three goals over those two contests.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Concedes four goals Sunday

Johansson stopped 25 of 29 shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Flames. Johansson wasn't able to finish off a perfect road trip for the Lightning, but he at least got them one standings point with a lockdown third period. He is winless over his last five outings, giving up 24 goals on 154 shots in that span. For the season, the veteran backup is 10-9-2 with a 3.26 GAA and an .883 save percentage over 23 appearances. The Lightning are likely to turn back to Andrei Vasilevskiy at home Tuesday versus the Wild, but with a back-to-back coming up over the weekend, Johansson shouldn't have to wait long for his next start.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Set to start in Calgary

Johansson will guard the road net Sunday against the Flames, Ryan Pike of Flames Nation reports. Johansson hasn't played since March 8 against the Sabres -- he conceded eight goals on 42 shots during an 8-7 loss in that game. The Swedish netminder has a 10-9-1 record, 3.23 GAA and .884 save percentage through 22 appearances this season. The Flames have won back-to-back games against the Blues and Panthers.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Concedes eight in goalfest

Johansson stopped 34 of 42 shots in Sunday's 8-7 loss to the Sabres. Conceding eight goals is far from ideal, as Johansson only posted an .810 save percentage in one of the highest-scoring games of the 2025-26 NHL season so far. Johansson has appeared in six games (five starts) since the beginning of January, going 2-3-0 with a 4.35 GAA and an .855 save percentage. He's firmly entrenched as the Lightning's No. 2 option between the pipes behind Andrei Vasilevskiy, so he's not going to have a lot of upside in most fantasy formats. Even when Johansson is scheduled to start, he's a matchup-based, streaming-only option.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Between pipes Sunday

Johansson will guard the road goal against the Sabres on Sunday, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports. Johansson will get the second half of Tampa Bay's back-to-back after Andrei Vasilevskiy played in Saturday's 5-2 win over Toronto. The 30-year-old Johansson has gone 10-8-1 this campaign with a 2.98 GAA and an .890 save percentage across 21 appearances. Buffalo ranks seventh in the league with 3.40 goals per game this season.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Solid in relief

Johansson made 20 saves on 21 shots in relief during a 6-2 loss to the Sabres on Saturday. The Lightning had no compete and little focus Saturday, so netminding was an adventure behind them. Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed five goals on 14 shots, and head coach Jon Cooper yanked him to prove a point. Johansson was solid, but it won't earn him more time in the net. Tampa Bay is four points ahead of Buffalo and five ahead of Montreal for the top spot in the Atlantic Division, which will result in more playing time for Vasilevskiy.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: First loss in four starts

Johansson made 23 saves on 29 shots in Saturday's 8-5 loss to Columbus. The Blue Jackets added two empty-netters in the third period. Columbus scored four goals in the first period and had two more in the second. It was Johansson's first loss in four games, but that's all he'd played since the holiday break in December. He is 10-7-1 with a 2.91 GAA and an .890 save percentage in 19 appearances this season.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Guarding road goal

Johansson is set to start on the road against Columbus on Saturday, per Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers. Johansson will be making his first start since Jan. 12. He will get the second half of Tampa Bay's back-to-back, but has played sparingly behind Andrei Vasilevskiy. Johansson has a 10-6-1 record, 2.73 GAA and .896 save percentage in 18 outings this campaign. Columbus has won five of its past six games, outscoring the competition 18-12 across that stretch.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Third straight win

Johansson made 20 saves in a 5-1 win over the Flyers on Monday. Well, well, well -- look at this. Johansson has won three straight games, allowing eight goals (.895 save percentage) in that span. He's a goalie who can get the Lightning wins, but he struggles to keep his counting stats to the league average. At the same time, Johansson isn't a fantasy liability, so you can get him in your blue paint when you know he's the starter.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Tending twine Monday

Johansson will defend the cage on the road versus the Flyers on Monday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Johansson will take the first game of the Lightning's back-to-back, which means Andrei Vasilevskiy figures to be the starter for Tuesday's road contest in Pittsburgh. In his 17 appearances this year, the 30-year-old Johansson is 9-6-1 with an .894 save percentage and 2.83 GAA.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Second straight win

Johansson made 17 saves in a 5-3 win over the Kings on Thursday. It was a tight contest, with the Bolts finally netting the go-ahead snipe with just 1:41 left in the final frame. Johansson has won two straight games, allowing seven goals in that span. And he hasn't recorded a save percentage above .892 in his last five starts (3-1-1). Johansson benefits from the team in front of him, not the other way around. He's a spot start only option.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Set to start Thursday

Johansson is expected to start on the road against the Kings on Thursday, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site. Johansson stopped 31 of 35 shots in a 5-4 shootout win over Montreal in his last start Sunday. He's 8-6-1 with a 2.82 GAA and an .896 save percentage in 16 outings in 2025-26. The Kings rank 29th in goals per game with 2.58.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Facing Canadiens

Johansson will patrol the home crease against Montreal on Sunday, according to Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site. Johansson will get the second half of Tampa Bay's back-to-back after Andrei Vasilevskiy played in Saturday's 4-2 win over Florida. The 30-year-old Johansson has a 7-6-1 record with a 2.76 GAA and an .897 save percentage through 15 appearances this season. Montreal is tied for seventh in the league with 3.27 goals per game during the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Mauled by Panthers

Johansson turned aside 19 shots in Monday's 5-2 loss to Florida. The Panthers scored four times before the Lightning were even able to get on the board on a Max Crozier tally in the final minute of the second period. The shaky outing for Johansson could be his last for a while, as Andrei Vasilevskiy (undisclosed) might be on the verge of rejoining the team after Brandon Halverson was bumped back to AHL Syracuse on Tuesday morning. In Johansson's seven straight starts since Vasilevskiy went down, he's gone 2-4-1 with a respectable 2.59 GAA and .899 save percentage.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: First goalie off Monday

Johansson was the first goalie off during Monday's morning skate, Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site reports, indicating that he'll draw the home start against the Panthers. Johansson will draw a seventh consecutive start Monday after going 2-3-1 with a 2.19 GAA and .916 save percentage over his last six outings. The Panthers are scoring 3.13 goals per game this season, which ranks 12th in the NHL.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Barely tested in shootout loss

Johansson made 15 saves in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Islanders on Saturday. Johansson gave up two goals in the first half of the first period, and then he played spectator in the second frame when his teammates turned up the heat and outshot the Isles 17-1. Johansson is 2-0-1 in three starts this week and has performed admirably. However, he's not the long-term answer in net. Andrei Vasilevskiy (undisclosed) could return to action Monday.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Slated starter Saturday

Johansson is expected to start on the road against the Islanders on Saturday, per Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times. Johansson is making his sixth straight start because Andrei Vasilevskiy (undisclosed) is on the shelf. Johansson is 7-5-0 with a 2.65 GAA and a .905 save percentage in 13 outings this year. It will be a rematch of the Johansson versus Ilya Sorokin matchup from Dec. 6. Johansson kicked out 17 of 18 shots in that game, but he still got the loss because Sorokin led the Islanders to a 2-0 victory thanks to a 32-save shutout.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Second straight win

Johansson made 33 saves in an 8-4 win over New Jersey on Thursday. Johansson and the Bolts never trailed Thursday. It was his second straight win after a three-game losing skid. Johansson is now 7-5-0 with a 2.65 GAA and .905 save percentage in 12 starts this season, and he will continue to guard the blue paint until Andrei Vasilevskiy (undisclosed) returns.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Guarding goal in New Jersey

Johansson will protect the road goal versus the Devils on Thursday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Johansson has allowed just seven goals over his last four games, but he's unfortunate to be 1-3-0 in that span. He snapped his losing streak with a 26-save effort in Tuesday's 6-1 win over the Canadiens. Johansson continues to see a hefty workload due to Andrei Vasilevskiy (undisclosed) being sidelined, though Encina reports Vasilevskiy is still considered to be in the day-to-day range.
