  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Yields three goals in loss

Johansson stopped 22 of 25 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Ducks. The fourth goal was an empty-netter. The Lightning were limited to three goals while losing all three games of their California road trip, with Johansson on the hook for this one after Andrei Vasilevskiy dropped 2-1 results to the Sharks and Kings. The lack of goal support is unusual -- the Lightning have been one of the top-scoring teams in the league this season. Johansson has lost two starts in a row and is now at 4-3-1 with a 3.32 GAA and an .898 save percentage over nine outings. Vasilevskiy will likely get the nod for Tuesday's home game versus the Hurricanes.

Johansson will patrol the road crease in Anaheim on Sunday, per Ducks PA Announcer Phil Hulett. Johansson was solid across three appearances in December, posting a 2-1-0 record, .947 save percentage and 1.68 GAA. The Lightning have lost three consecutive games, but Johansson will have a favorable matchup against an Anaheim club that ranks 31st in the NHL with 2.50 goals per game. The Swedish netminder is 5-1-0 with a 1.40 GAA and a .951 save percentage over six career appearances against the Ducks.

He's made seven starts this season and Sunday's result was more in line with Johansson's first three starts when he posted a 5.71 goals-against average and .845 save percentage. The Lightning are off until 2025, kicking off a three-game road trip Thursday at San Jose.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: In goal Sunday

Johansson will patrol the home crease against Montreal on Sunday, per Gabby Shirley of FanDuel Sports Network Florida & Sun. Johansson will get the second half of Tampa Bay's back-to-back after Andrei Vasilevskiy played in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Rangers. The 29-year-old Johansson has won his last three outings, allowing only three goals on 89 shots. He has a 4-1-1 record with a 3.25 GAA and a .902 save percentage through seven appearances this season. Montreal sits 19th in the league with 2.97 goals per game in 2024-25 and earned a 4-0 win over Florida on Saturday.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Clean sheet in Battle of Florida

Johansson turned aside all 36 shots he faced in Monday's 4-0 win over the Panthers. The 29-year-old backup goalie delivered his first shutout of the season in impressive fashion, as Tampa Bay was outshot 36-29 on the night. Johansson has been sharp of late despite a lack of consistent action -- he's won three straight starts dating back to Nov. 29, allowing just three goals on 89 shots over that stretch. With Andrei Vasilevskiy also having an excellent December though (2.17 GAA, .918 save percentage), Johansson's opportunities figure to remain limited on the other side of the holiday break.

Johansson will guard the road goal versus Florida on Monday, according to Gabby Shirley of FanDuel Sports Network Florida & Sun. The 29-year-old Johansson has a 3-1-1 record with a 3.84 GAA and an .882 save percentage across six appearances this season. Florida sits fourth in the league with 3.54 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Strong showing in win

Johansson stopped 21 of 22 shots in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Kraken. Johansson earned his second win in a row and had his best start of the season. He gave up a Brandon Montour power-play tally in the first period, but the Lightning scored five straight goals afterward. Johansson is now 3-1-1 with a 3.84 GAA and an .882 save percentage over six appearances this season. He has played in roughly one game every four to six contests, which doesn't make him much of a fantasy factor. He'll likely play once over the Lightning's four games prior to the holiday break.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Second win of season

Johansson stopped 28 of 30 shots in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Predators. Johansson returned to the Lightning crease after a three-game absence and earned his second win of the campaign following an impressive display. Johansson will continue as Andrei Vasilevskiy's backup, though, and with the 30-year-old Russian set to continue to have a large workload, Johansson shouldn't be targeted in most formats as long as Vasilevskiy remains healthy and available.

Johansson made 36 saves in a 7-6 overtime loss to Columbus on Thursday. Johansson's teammates gave him a three-goal lead by the 11:52 mark of the first period, but he and his mates could not stop the Blue Jackets, who were relentless. Johansson is 1-1-1 in three starts this season, but his 5.22 GAA and .856 save percentage guarantees two things -- a spot on the fantasy waiver wire for him and a heavy workload for Andrei Vasilevskiy.
