Dylan Wells: Cut loose from PTO
Wells was released from his professional tryout with Nashville on Sunday and sent to AHL Milwaukee.
Wells will try to earn himself a contract at camp with the Admirals. He posted a 9-6-1 record with a 2.96 GAA and a .905 save percentage in 17 appearances with AHL Rockford last season. Wells also played in two games with ECHL Idaho, three contests with AHL Texas and one NHL outing with the Blackhawks during the 2022-23 campaign.

Stars' Dylan Wells: Joins big club
Wells was promoted from AHL Texas on Monday, per CapFriendly.
Wells made his NHL debut with Chicago this season, stopping 12 of 13 shots in relief back in November. He posted an .839 save percentage in three games with AHL Texas after being acquired by the Stars. He'll serve as emergency depth on the postseason roster.

Stars' Dylan Wells: Dealt to Dallas
Wells and Max Domi were traded from the Blackhawks to the Stars on Thursday in exchange for Anton Khudobin and a 2025 second-round pick.
Wells made his NHL debut in a relief appearance with the Blackhawks earlier this season. The 25-year-old Wells and the veteran Khudobin will essentially swap spots with the clubs' respective minor-league squads.

Wells can be assigned to the minors if he clears. He made his NHL debut Saturday against Winnipeg in a relief appearance after Arvid Soderblom (undisclosed) left the contest. Wells stopped 12 of 13 shots in the third period of Chicago's 4-0 loss.

Wells made his NHL debut Saturday in relief in a 4-0 loss to Winnipeg. He stopped 12 of 13 shots.
Arvid Soderblom (undisclosed) didn't return after two periods. Nate Schmidt smoked a shot past Wells on the power play early in the third. Chicago doesn't play again until Thursday, so it remains to be seen if Wells will need to start should Soderblom remain sidelined.

Wells penned a one-year, two-way contract with Chicago on Wednesday.
Wells has played three games on a minor-league deal for AHL Rockford this season in which he is 1-1-0 with a .862 save percentage and 4.27 GAA. With Alex Stalock (concussion) in doubt, the Hawks found themselves desperately short of NHL-eligible netminders, forcing them to sign Wells to a two-way deal that would allow him to be called up to Chicago.

Wells stopped all 18 shots he faced in Saturday's 1-0 overtime loss to the Flames' prospects.
Wells played half of the game and did his part to make it a battle between himself and Flames netminder Artyom Zagidulin. Wells went 6-6-0 with one shutout, a 2.84 GAA and a .909 save percentage in 12 games played with AHL Bakersfield last year. He remains, at best, fourth on the goalie depth chart for the Oilers, who will probably begin the year with Mikko Koskinen and Mike Smith tending twine for the parent club.

Oilers' Dylan Wells: Ready for pro level
Wells will join the professional ranks this upcoming season.
Following four years spent in junior with OHL Peterborough, Wells will link up with with AHL Bakersfield or ECHL Wichita for the upcoming campaign. At best, the Ontario native slots in as the fourth goalie on the Oilers organizational depth chart, though that's a spot he may need to steal away from Shane Starrett, who logged the bulk of the minutes with the Thunder last season. With Al Montoya and Mikko Koskinen expected to compete for the backup job behind Cam Talbot, the 20-year-old Wells is unlikely to see any action for Edmonton for at least another season.
