Islanders' Carson Soucy: Quick revenge against Rangers
Soucy scored his fourth goal of the season in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Rangers.
Traded to the Islanders from their cross-town rivals early in the week, Soucy opened the scoring and ended a 23-game goal drought in just his second appearance for his new club when he snuck a shot past Jonathan Quick from a bad angle late in the second period. Soucy isn't in the lineup for his offense, and through 48 games on the season between both New York teams, he's delivered nine points, 73 hits, 67 blocked shots, 43 shots on net, 18 PIM and a plus-5 rating.

Islanders' Carson Soucy: Dealt to divisional rival
Soucy was traded to the Islanders from the Rangers on Monday in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick, per PuckPedia.
Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reported earlier Monday that this trade was in the works, which resulted in Soucy being sidelined for the Rangers' game against the Bruins. Soucy will see his former team in short order, as the Islanders and Rangers will play in a home-and-home set Wednesday and Thursday. The 31-year-old defenseman will likely work in a third-pairing role when he's in the lineup for his new squad, but he also could serve as a periodic healthy scratch, especially if the Islanders choose to keep Isaiah George with the big club when Ryan Pulock returns from an upper-body injury.

Rangers' Carson Soucy: Won't play Monday
Soucy will be held out of Monday's game vesus Boston ahead of a reported trade, Colin Stephenson of Newsday reports.
According to reports, Soucy is going to be traded to the Islanders, though the terms of the deal haven't been announced yet. Offensively, Soucy is limited, producing just three helpers during a 22-game goal drought, but he should serve as a shutdown defender for the Islanders once he's flipped to his new club.

Rangers' Carson Soucy: Back with team
Soucy (personal) has returned to the team but won't play against Anaheim on Monday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
Soucy missed Saturday's 6-3 win over Philadelphia due to a personal matter. He hasn't skated for the past three days, and he will get at least Monday's game off rather than jumping back into the lineup. Soucy has three goals, eight points, 35 shots on net, 63 blocked shots and 68 hits through 44 outings this campaign.

Rangers' Carson Soucy: Attending to personal matter
Soucy will not join the Rangers for the start of their four-game road trip for personal reasons, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports Friday.
Soucy is expected to link up with the team at some point, but he won't be an option versus the Flyers on Saturday before the Rangers head west for a California swing. In order to bolster its blue line options, the club recalled Connor Mackey from AHL Hartford, though he is unlikely to get into the lineup ahead of Urho Vaakanainen.

Rangers' Carson Soucy: Picks up helper in loss
Soucy logged an assist and two hits in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Kraken.
Soucy ended a 17-game point drought when he assisted on Mika Zibanejad's first-period tally. The 31-year-old Soucy has seven points, 34 shots on net, 65 hits, 57 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 43 appearances this season. He plays a steady defensive game, but he's not a strong fantasy option given his limited offense.

Soucy scored a goal on three shots, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Friday's 6-2 win over the Bruins.
Soucy snapped a seven-game point drought, and the goal was his first since Oct. 9 versus the Sabres. The 31-year-old blueliner has filled a bottom-four role this season as a shutdown defenseman. He's nothing more than a depth contributor on offense, picking up two goals, two assists, 19 shots on net, 35 hits, 29 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating through 22 contests.

Soucy (upper body) said that he'll be available for Monday's game against the Wild, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports.
Soucy was placed on injured reserve Oct. 12, but he said ahead of Monday's matchup that he's felt good in recent days, and he's been cleared to return following a four-game absence. Rangers' Carson Soucy: Moves to IR
Soucy (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.
The Rangers recalled Connor Mackey from AHL Hartford in a corresponding move. Soucy suffered the injury in Saturday's 6-1 win over Pittsburgh. As a result of landing on the IR list, he won't be eligible to play in at least the next four games, starting with Sunday's home matchup versus Washington. However, it's unclear when he will be available to return to the lineup. The 31-year-old defenseman has one goal, three shots on net, three blocked shots and three hits through three appearances this season.

Rangers' Carson Soucy: Sustains upper-body injury
Soucy won't return to Saturday's clash against Pittsburgh because of an upper-body injury.
Soucy had one hit in 6:35 of ice time before exiting the game. He entered the campaign in a top-four capacity, though he doesn't have a regular spot with the man advantage. If he can't play Sunday versus Washington, then Matthew Robertson will probably make his season debut.

Rangers' Carson Soucy: Scores rare goal Thursday
Soucy scored a goal in a 4-0 win over Buffalo on Thursday.
Soucy made it 2-0 at 14:46 of the third period when he beat Alex Lyon blocker side from the left circle. Soucy isn't known for his offense, but he will contribute some muscle in speciality formats. He put up a career-high 106 blocks between the Canucks and Rangers last season, and his 115 hits gave him at least that total for the third time in four seasons.

Rangers' Carson Soucy: Good to go
Soucy (illness) skated on a pairing with Scott Morrow in Thursday's scrimmage, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports.
Soucy was under the weather at the end of 2024-25, but he's fine now. The 31-year-old is likely to be a regular in the Rangers' lineup as a bottom-four blueliner. He had 13 points over 75 regular-season games last year between the Rangers and the Canucks. Soucy also had 106 blocked shots and 115 hits, so he could provide a bit of physicality.

Rangers' Carson Soucy: Unavailable Thursday
Soucy (illness) will miss Thursday's season finale against the Lightning, per Peter Baugh of The Athletic.
Soucy will close out the season with four goals, 13 points, 46 PIM, 115 hits and 106 blocks in 75 outings between Vancouver and the Rangers. He's in the second season of a three-year, $9.75 million contract, so he's set to be back with New York for 2025-26.

Rangers' Carson Soucy: Chips in with helper
Soucy notched an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Soucy was back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch for three games. He replaced Urho Vaakanainen on the second pairing, though Soucy was last among Rangers' defensemen with 16:01 of ice time. The 30-year-old blueliner has two points in five outings as a Ranger, and he's up to 12 points, 66 shots on net, 95 hits, 96 blocked shots, 44 PIM and a minus-14 rating over 64 appearances this season.

Rangers' Carson Soucy: Tallies in team debut
Soucy scored a goal and added two PIM in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Senators.
Soucy played on the third pairing alongside Zac Jones. It didn't take Soucy long to make an impact, as he scored at 8:37 of the first period in his Rangers debut, his first goal in eight games. The 30-year-old blueliner was bumped out of Vancouver by the emergence of Elias Pettersson, but it looks like he may get to play regularly with the Rangers. Soucy is at 11 points, 63 shots on net, 86 hits, 93 blocked shots, 44 PIM and a minus-13 rating over 60 appearances this season, so he's not a strong option for fantasy.

Rangers' Carson Soucy: Shipped to Blueshirts
Soucy was traded to the Rangers from the Canucks on Thursday in exchange for a third-round draft pick, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
Soucy is signed for 2025-26, so this is more than just a rental for the Rangers. The 30-year-old has had a poor season for the Canucks, racking up 10 points and a minus-13 rating over 59 appearances. Much like the Will Borgen acquisition in December, the Rangers will hope they can get more out of Soucy than his previous team was able to, but the blueliner is a primarily defensive player. It's unlikely he'll be a factor in most fantasy formats. The third-round pick involved in the deal is originally San Jose's which the Rangers acquired earlier Thursday in a deal with Vegas that sent Reilly Smith back to the desert, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.

Canucks' Carson Soucy: Nets game-winner Wednesday
Soucy scored a goal in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Ducks.
Soucy tallied at 18:51 of the second period to put the Canucks ahead 3-1. The Ducks got one goal back in the third, but Soucy's tally held as his second game-winner and third goal overall this season. He's up to 10 points, 62 shots on net, 86 hits, 92 blocked shots, 42 PIM and a minus-13 rating through 59 appearances. His defensive struggles this year have put him in danger of losing playing time, especially if the Canucks want to see what they have in Victor Mancini.

Canucks' Carson Soucy: Plucks apple in loss
Soucy notched a helper and two blocked shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Golden Knights.
Soucy helped out on a Jake DeBrusk tally in the second period. Injuries to Quinn Hughes (oblique) and Noah Juulsen (undisclosed) have offered a reprieve to Soucy's diminishing playing time. However, Souncy must elevate his game to avoid the occasional trip to the press box. For the season, the defenseman has nine points, 60 shots on net, 83 hits, 87 blocked shots, 42 PIM and a minus-15 rating through 55 appearances, a level of production that likely isn't enough to keep him in the lineup once the team is at full strength.
