Jets' Neal Pionk: Placed on injured reserve
Pionk (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, retroactive to Jan. 13.
Winnipeg recalled Elias Salomonsson from AHL Manitoba in a corresponding move. Pionk is week-to-week after aggravating a lower-body issue in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Islanders. Pionk has two goals, six assists, 76 shots on net, 64 blocked shots and 84 hits in 40 appearances this season.

Jets' Neal Pionk: Deemed week-to-week
Pionk (lower body) is week-to-week, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports Wednesday.
Pionk aggravated the lower-body injury he sustained against Edmonton on Jan. 8 after he fell in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Islanders. The blueliner hasn't scored a goal since Dec. 15 versus the Senators. During his slump, Pionk managed just two assists and could be in danger of missing the 30-point threshold for the first time since the 2018-19 regular season, especially if he misses significant time due to injury.

Jets' Neal Pionk: Nabs helper in win
Pionk notched an assist, two hits and a minus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Islanders.
Pionk set up Adam Lowry late in the second period for what stood as the game-winning goal. The 30-year-old Pionk has two helpers over six outings in January, which makes it already a more productive month than December (one goal in 13 games). The defenseman is at eight points, 76 shots on net, 84 hits, 64 blocked shots, 19 PIM and a minus-1 rating over 40 appearances in what's likely to be the worst full-length season of his career.

Pionk (lower body) is expected to play against New Jersey on Sunday, according to Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press.
Following a one-game absence, Pionk is poised to replace Luke Schenn in Sunday's lineup against the Devils. The 30-year-old Pionk has two goals, five assists, 76 shots on net, 62 blocked shots and 81 hits across 38 appearances this season.

Jets' Neal Pionk: Absent from lineup Friday
Pionk (foot) is not playing Friday versus the Kings, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Pionk blocked a shot off his foot in the Jets' last game and is apparently not fit enough to play. Colin Miller will come into the lineup to replace him, while Dylan DeMelo should see a bump in ice time to cover Pionk's absence.

Jets' Neal Pionk: Finds twine Monday
Pionk netted a goal, placed two shots on target, recorded two blocks and dished out three hits in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to Ottawa.
Pionk tallied a goal in the second period to level the score at one apiece. The goal was his first since his return to the lineup from a lower-body injury. With Monday's twine finder, the 30-year-old blueliner is up to two goals, six points, 58 shots on net, 59 hits and 46 blocks through 28 games this season. While he's experiencing a down year offensively, Pionk has maintained value in fantasy through covering major stat categories. Even on nights when he doesn't find the scoresheet, he can manage to scrape together solid performances through his work on the other side of the blue line.

Jets' Neal Pionk: First goal of season
Pionk scored a power-play goal in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets.
Pionk found the back of the net for the first time this season with a slap shot late in the second frame. The 30-year-old veteran has five points this season, so he's not much of an asset from a fantasy perspective. That said, he could provide some upside in leagues that reward physical stats, as he's averaging 1.8 hits and 1.8 blocked shots per game.

Jets' Neal Pionk: Picks up two assists
Pionk dished out two assists and logged nearly 25 minutes of ice time in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over Minnesota.
Pionk snapped a three-game scoring drought with a first-period assist Tuesday in Minnesota. It's been a sluggish start to the season, as he's managed just two assists through 10 games. While he's not known as a premier offensive blueliner, Pionk has surpassed the 30-point mark in six straight regular seasons, suggesting his production should rebound soon. Given his steady minutes and role quarterbacking Winnipeg's second power-play unit, he has a good chance of building on this performance in Thursday's home matchup against Chicago.

Pionk recorded a power-play assist and three blocked shots in Monday's 2-1 win over the Flames.

The 30-year-old Pionk has a helper, 10 shots on net, four hits, 12 blocked shots, six PIM and a plus-3 rating through six contests. It's a little concerning that he's not piling up hits as aggressively as in previous seasons, as it's Pionk's physicality and all-around production that provide the bulk of his fantasy value.

Pionk logged three assists, three shots on net, six hits, four blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 4-3 double-overtime win over the Blues in Game 7.

Pionk had five points, 14 shots on net, 21 hits, 10 blocks, 14 PIM and a plus-4 rating over seven contests in the first round. If Morrissey misses time, Pionk will take over on the top power-play unit while also seeing a hearty bump in overall usage.
