Blackhawks' Kevin Korchinski: Gathers helper in finale
Korchinski recorded a power-play assist in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Kings.
Korchinski set up a Tyler Johnson tally in the third period. The 19-year-old Korchinski faced an uphill battle to make an impact this season, but he was able to stick in the NHL all year. He posted 15 points, 93 shots on net, 82 blocked shots and a minus-39 rating over 76 appearances -- while not great numbers, they make sense in the context of playing for one of the worst teams in the league. Korchinski's got a bright future ahead as a two-way defenseman who could be a staple of the Blackhawks' top four for years to come.

It was about the only bright spot for the 19-year-old defenseman in a game that showed how much room he has to grow to keep pace with the NHL. He's scored in consecutive games and has 14 points through 64 appearances, but that comes with an ugly minus-38 rating, 84 shots on net and 67 blocked shots.

Blackhawks' Kevin Korchinski: Scores in Tuesday's loss
Korchinski scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Canucks.
Korchinski has just two points over 17 games since the start of January, though the scoring slump hasn't cost him a top-four role. The 19-year-old blueliner is in a tough position, seeing big minutes for a team with almost no scoring upside. Korchinski has three goals, seven assists, 57 shots on net, 51 blocked shots and a minus-22 rating through 47 appearances this season, so fantasy managers in redraft formats can likely leave him on the wire.
