  • Capitals' Ivan Miroshnichenko: Snags helper Friday

Miroshnichenko notched an assist in Friday's 5-4 overtime win over the Islanders. Miroshnichenko has a goal and an assist over four contests so far this season. He's spent much of his time on the fourth line, though he's also occasionally seen power-play usage. The 20-year-old winger has a chance to audition for a longer stay in the NHL while Alex Ovechkin (fibula) is out, but it'll likely be other forwards who get the opportunity to fill in for top-six minutes.

  • Capitals' Ivan Miroshnichenko: Sent to AHL

Miroshnichenko was loaned to AHL Hershey on Monday. Miroshnichenko appeared in 21 regular-season games for Washington last year and logged two goals and six points while averaging 12:08 of ice time. He'll be left off the Capitals' Opening Night roster this year but could still see a role in the NHL at some point this year. However, even if he rejoins the Capitals, he'll likely have to compete for playing time, making him a risky fantasy option in redraft formats.

  • Capitals' Ivan Miroshnichenko: Nets first NHL goal

Miroshnichenko scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 6-0 win over the Penguins. Miroshnichenko extended Washington's lead to 5-0 late in the second period, burying a loose puck in front of the net for his first NHL goal in his fifth game. Miroshnichenko still has room to grow at the NHL level -- the 2020 first-round pick offers high-end offensive potential. He should get an extended opportunity in Washington following Anthony Mantha's trade to the Golden Knights.

  • Capitals' Ivan Miroshnichenko: Summoned from AHL

Miroshnichenko was promoted from AHL Hershey on Wednesday, per Tarik El-Bashir of Monumental Sports Network. Miroshnichenko has no points, four shots and six hits in three contests with the Capitals this season. He's also recorded eight goals and 15 points in 27 outings with Hershey.

  • Capitals' Ivan Miroshnichenko: Returns to minor-league affiliate

Miroshnichenko was reassigned to AHL Hershey following Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Lightning. Miroshnichenko played in Saturday's game but failed to record a point for the third straight contest to begin his NHL career. If the Capitals get injured forwards back following the holiday break, the 19-year-old winger may remain in the AHL.

  • Capitals' Ivan Miroshnichenko: Summoned from minors

Miroshnichenko was recalled from AHL Hershey on Tuesday. Miroshnichenko could make his NHL debut in the near future after posting eight goals and 15 points in 27 games thus far in his inaugural season with AHL Hershey. The 20th overall pick from the 2022 NHL Entry Draft owns a plethora of offensive skills, but his time with the Capitals will likely be brief in the 2023-24 season as he continues to develop into a reliable fantasy asset.
