Schaefer scored a goal in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Kraken.
Schaefer's tally midway through the second period tied the game at 2-2. The 22-year-old has played in two of the last three contests, though he's not guaranteed to be in the lineup all of the time for the rest of the season, as he'll have to fend off Ozzy Wiesblatt for fourth-line minutes. Schaefer has earned five goals, two assists, 26 shots on net, 73 hits, 20 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating over 29 appearances with Nashville in his rookie campaign.

Predators' Reid Schaefer: Poised for call-up
Schaefer is expected to be recalled from AHL Milwaukee prior to Thursday's game versus the Bruins, Nick Kieser of Lower Broad Hockey reports.

Schaefer scored twice in AHL Milwaukee's 4-3 overtime win over Manitoba on Sunday.
Schaefer hasn't gotten a call back to the NHL after a brief stint with the big club prior to the Olympic break. The winger continues to play well for the Admirals -- he has 14 goals and 12 assists over 30 outings. The Predators are on the fringe of the playoff race, but it wouldn't be surprising for Schaefer to get a longer look with the big club if it falls out of contention.

Predators' Reid Schaefer: Returned to Milwaukee
Schaefer was loaned to AHL Milwaukee on Friday.
Schaefer has played 27 games in his first season in the NHL, tallying four goals and adding two assists. The 22-year-old, who was selected 32nd overall in the opening round of the 2022 NHL Draft, will get in some extra playing time with the Admirals, with whom he had six goals and 12 assists in 21 appearances earlier in the season.

Predators' Reid Schaefer: Included in Ekholm trade
Schaefer, along with Tyson Barrie, a 2023 first-round pick and a 2024 fourth-round pick, were traded from the Oilers to the Predators on Tuesday in exchange for Mattias Ekholm and a 2024 sixth-round pick, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Schaefer was selected 32nd overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. He's picked up 47 points in 44 contests for a loaded WHL Seattle squad, where he'll likely remain for at least the rest of this season. Schaefer inked his entry-level deal in July, so it's possible he could get a look as a bottom-six option in camp next fall.
