  • Sharks' Kiefer Sherwood: Scores in loss to Sabres

Sherwood scored a goal, added five hits and went minus-3 in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Sabres. Sherwood has picked up the pace with three goals and an assist over his last four contests. The winger is up to 20 goals, seven assists, 129 shots on net, 254 hits and a minus-13 rating across 52 appearances between the Sharks and the Canucks. Sherwood has played around a 40-point pace over the last two seasons while adding elite physical play.

  • Sharks' Kiefer Sherwood: Tallies in overtime loss

Sherwood scored a goal and added eight hits in Friday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blues. This was Sherwood's first game since he signed a five-year extension with the Sharks. The 30-year-old winger is locked in as part of this team's core for a while, and he'll be a middle-six fixture with nearly unmatched physicality. Through 50 appearances between the Sharks and the Canucks this season, he has 19 goals, seven assists, 128 shots on net, 246 hits and a minus-10 rating.

  • Sharks' Kiefer Sherwood: Agrees to five-year extension

Sherwood signed a five-year, $28.75 million contract extension with San Jose on Wednesday, according to Chris Johnston of The Athletic. The Sharks acquired Sherwood from Vancouver on Jan. 19 in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 second-round selection and Cole Clayton. The 30-year-old Sherwood has 18 goals, 25 points, 127 shots, 30 PIM and 238 hits in 49 outings between Vancouver and San Jose in 2025-26. Although his overall points production isn't high, he does enough between his physical play and goal-scoring abilities to log significant minutes. He's averaged 17:32 of ice time this season, and that trend has continued with him logging 17:21 per game across four outings since the Olympic break.

  • Sharks' Kiefer Sherwood: Picks up two points in win

Sherwood scored a power-play goal on four shots, added an assist and doled out five hits in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Canadiens. These were his first two points for the Sharks since he was acquired Jan. 19 from the Canucks. The 30-year-old winger was on the third line for this contest, his fifth for San Jose. Sherwood is at 18 goals, seven helpers, 11 power-play points, 127 shots on net, 238 hits, 30 PIM and a minus-11 rating over 49 contests overall. Sherwood has a chance at his first 20-goal campaign and also continues to offer elite physicality even if he doesn't get premium ice time.

  • Sharks' Kiefer Sherwood: Won't play Thursday

Sherwood (upper body) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Oilers, Max Miller of NHL.com reports. Sherwood initially hoped to return from injured reserve for Tuesday's game against the Canucks, but he was held out for that matchup and will remain sidelined Thursday since the Sharks will utilize the same lineup. The 30-year-old's next opportunity to suit up will be Saturday in Calgary.

  • Sharks' Kiefer Sherwood: Still sidelined against Vancouver

Sherwood (upper body) will not be in action versus the Canucks on Tuesday, Max Miller of NHL.com reports. Sherwood was originally hoping to get into Tuesday's contest in order to face his former club, but instead, he will have to wait at least one more game. The winger is expected to play at some point during the team's five-game road trip, but no word yet on when that might be.

  • Sharks' Kiefer Sherwood: Targeting Tuesday return

Sherwood (upper body) hopes to be ready in time to face Vancouver on Tuesday, Max Miller of NHL.com reports Thursday. Sherwood certainly would like to face his former club, but evidently is facing an uphill battle to be ready in time. Still, it's a positive development for the 30-year-old winger, as he will be joining his new club on its five-game road trip ahead of the Olympic break and looks poised to return at some point.

  • Sharks' Kiefer Sherwood: Dealt to Capital of Silicon Valley

The Sharks acquired Sherwood (undisclosed) from Vancouver on Monday in exchange for a second-round selection in 2026, a second-round pick in 2027 and Cole Clayton. Sherwood is on injured reserve and has been out of action since Jan. 10. It's unclear when he will be available to make his San Jose debut, but Jeff Paterson of CanucksArmy.com reports that the 30-year-old forward isn't sure he'll play before February's Olympic break. Sherwood has racked up 17 goals, 23 points, 109 shots on net and 210 hits in 44 games this season.

  • Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood: Strikes on power play Friday

Sherwood scored a power-play goal on two shots and added five hits in Friday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Kraken. Sherwood's offense has been anything but consistent lately -- he ended a five-game slump with his second-period tally. He's scored five goals over his last 18 games, but three of them came versus the Islanders on Dec. 19. Over that span, he's still racked up 93 hits, and he remains highly valuable in banger leagues. Sherwood has produced 17 goals, four assists, 96 shots on net, 189 hits, 20 PIM and a minus-5 rating over 40 appearances.

  • Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood: Nets power-play goal in loss

Sherwood scored a power-play goal on two shots and added two hits in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Sabres. Sherwood's scoring fortunes have faded alongside the Canucks' drop to the bottom of the standings. His goal Thursday ended an eight-game point drought. The winger is still seeing prominent minutes, but he doesn't often generate offense on his own. Sherwood is at 13 goals, four assists, 69 shots on net, 136 hits, 16 PIM and a minus-7 rating over 31 appearances. He's still shooting 18.8 percent, so more regression could be on the way.

  • Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood: Scores power-play goal

Sherwood scored a power-play goal in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Lightning. Sherwood scored a power-play goal for the first time since Oct. 30, when he recorded a hat trick in a 4-3 win over the Blues, and he continues to find ways to make an impact. Sherwood has three goals and one assist over his last five games.

  • Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood: Pots another goal

Sherwood scored a goal on four shots and added eight hits in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Jets. Sherwood has scored in back-to-back games, and he's gotten on the scoresheet in three straight contests. The 30-year-old winger's eight hits Tuesday marked a season high, though he's no stranger to lofty hit totals after setting the single-season record (462) last year. Sherwood has 11 goals, one assist, 37 shots, 79 hits, 12 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 18 appearances this season. He's been on the second line over the last few games, which should offer him more chances to generate offense.

  • Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood: Hot scoring start continues

Sherwood scored a goal on his only shot, blocked one shot and delivered four hits during his 23:15 of ice time in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Capitals. Due to his status as an all-situations player, Sherwood's 23:15 of ice time was the most among all Canucks forwards. So far, he's really taken advantage of that distinction, and he scored his first power-play goal, and fourth goal overall, of the season. With some injury questions up front for Vancouver following Sunday's game -- both Filip Chytil (upper body) and Jonathan Lekkerimaki (undisclosed) left early with injuries -- it's certainly possible that Sherwood will get increased opportunities in the short term to continue his hot start.

  • Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood: Pots two goals Monday

Sherwood scored two goals in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Blues. Sherwood found the back of the net twice during the second period, with one of those goals coming when the Canucks were shorthanded. However, the 30-year-old's efforts were not enough to turn things around. Sherwood might not have a lot of upside in his current bottom-six role, but he's been surprisingly productive early on with three goals over three games. He's scored the three goals on seven shots on net, however, so his accuracy is bound to experience some regression sooner rather than later.

  • Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood: Lights lamp in season-opening win

Sherwood scored a goal on two shots, levied six hits and added two PIM in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Flames. Sherwood opened the scoring at 14:53 of the first period off a feed from Drew O'Connor. The 30-year-old Sherwood broke out to the tune of 19 goals and 40 points over 78 games in 2024-25, as well as an NHL-record 462 hits -- that's 5.9 hits per game. While fantasy managers can find similar scoring production all over the waiver wire, Sherwood's elite physicality sets him apart in formats that count hits. Don't sleep on him if he continues to chip in a point every other game.

  • Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood: Another three-point performance

Sherwood had three assists, including one on the power play, in Friday's 7-6 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets. He also recorded six shots on goal, 10 hits and one shot blocked. Sherwood has posted back-to-back three-point performances after notching two goals and one assist in a win over the Islanders on Wednesday. Sherwood might have a bottom-six role in the lineup, but he's finding ways to get involved as a scorer and a physical force. He's tallied 12 points, 25 shots and 94 hits in 14 appearances since the beginning of March.

  • Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood: Racks up 12 hits in defeat

Sherwood had 12 hits in a 5-3 loss to the Rangers on Saturday. According to Dan Rosen of NHL.com, Sherwood's 395 hits in 2024-25 are the most in a single season since the NHL started tracking the statistic officially in 2005-06. The 29-year-old Sherwood didn't earn a point in Saturday's loss but has one goal and three assists in his last five outings. He has 15 goals and 29 points through 66 appearances this season.

  • Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood: Draws helper in Tuesday's win

Sherwood notched an assist, two shots on goal and six hits in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Jets. Sherwood has three helpers and 17 hits over his last three outings. The 29-year-old is playing on a new-look second line with Pius Suter and Jake DeBrusk while Filip Chytil (concussion) is out. Sherwood has found decent scoring success in a variety of spots in the lineup this year, as his high-energy, heavy-hitting style plays well in most situations. The winger has a career-high 28 points while adding 373 hits, 113 shots on net, 31 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 64 appearances. Sherwood already has the fourth-most hits in a single season by any player since the stat was first kept in 2005-06, and he's 11 away from surpassing Jeremy Lauzon's record of 383 from the 2023-24 campaign.

  • Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood: Provides pair of assists in win

Sherwood logged two assists, six hits and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Blackhawks. Sherwood set up tallies by Tyler Myers and Nils Aman as the Canucks got offense from all over the lineup. With the lopsided score, Sherwood also led the team's forwards with 17:58 of ice time. The 29-year-old winger has four points, 42 hits and a plus-4 rating over seven outings in March. He's matched his career high with 27 points through 62 contests, achieving the feat in six fewer appearances than he needed last season. He's also produced 110 shots on net, 362 hits and a plus-2 rating this campaign.

  • Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood: Scores game-winner

Sherwood scored a goal on two shots, doled out seven hits and added seven PIM in Friday's 3-1 win over the Wild. Sherwood ended a 15-game goal drought dating back to Jan. 14 -- he also missed four contests due to an undisclosed injury in that time. The 29-year-old winger hasn't been much of a pugilist this year, but he fought Ryan Hartman in the first period after tripping the Minnesota forward. Sherwood is up to 14 goals, 25 points, 107 shots, 338 hits and 31 PIM over 58 appearances. He can win fantasy managers the hits category nearly on his own, and he's on track for a career high in points for the third year in a row.
