Perets was recalled to back up Spencer Martin on Saturday, though it appears Pyotr Kochetkov (undisclosed) will be available ahead of Sunday's matchup with St. Louis. The 24-year-old Perets is 1-2-0 with an .825 save percentage in the AHL this year.

Hurricanes' Yaniv Perets: Up from minors
Rotowire
Perets was called up by Carolina on Friday.
Perets has a 3.67 GAA and an .825 save percentage in three appearances with AHL Chicago in 2024-25. The Hurricanes are missing Frederik Andersen (lower body), who hasn't played since Oct. 26, and Pyotr Kochetkov (undisclosed), who exited Wednesday's 4-1 loss to Utah and is questionable for Saturday's game against Ottawa. If Kochetkov joins Andersen on the shelf, then Spencer Martin will likely start Saturday while Perets will serve as the backup netminder.
Perets will start at home versus the Predators in Wednesday's preseason game, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Perets will get the nod after Spencer Martin was placed on waivers Wednesday. Ultimately, both Martin and Perets are likely to begin 2024-25 with AHL Chicago. Perets played with ECHL Norfolk last year, going 18-11-3 with a 2.99 GAA and an .889 save percentage in 34 regular-season appearances and also made one NHL appearance when injuries impacted the Hurricanes' goaltending group.
