Blackhawks' Landon Slaggert: Inks two-year extension
Slaggert signed a two-year, $1.8 million contract extension with the Blackhawks on Friday.
Slaggert is in the final season of his two-year, entry-level deal, so his newly signed agreement will begin with the 2025-26 campaign. The 22-year-old had 20 goals and 31 points in 36 NCAA outings with Notre Dame as well as a goal and four points in 16 outings with Chicago during the 2023-24 campaign. He has an assist in one appearance with AHL Rockford this season. Slaggert's new contract is a one-way deal, which means he'll earn the same salary regardless of if he plays in the minors or the NHL, suggesting that the Blackhawks see him playing at the top level consistently, starting in 2025-26.

Blackhawks' Landon Slaggert: Grabs first two NHL points
Slaggert recorded a pair of assists in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Flames.
Playing in his sixth NHL game, Slaggert grabbed his first point with an assist on Jason Dickinson's goal late in the opening period. The 21-year-old Slaggert quickly added a second point with a helper on another Dickinson tally early in the second. Before joining the Blackhawks, Slaggert posted 20 goals and 31 points in 36 appearances with Notre Dame. While Slaggert isn't expected to provide a ton of offense at the professional level, the 2020 third-round pick should bring some physicality to Chicago's bottom six.
