  • Senators' Carter Yakemchuk: Produces four assists

Yakemchuk recorded four assists in AHL Belleville's 6-3 win over Hershey on Saturday. Yakemchuk is up to 33 points, 93 shots on net and a minus-30 rating over 46 appearances this season. He has two goals and six assists over his last five outings. Yakemchuk is still rounding out his overall game, so he may need to start 2026-27 in the AHL before pushing for an NHL job.

  • Senators' Carter Yakemchuk: Sent down to minors

Yakemchuk was reassigned to AHL Belleville on Wednesday. With Belleville not in action until Friday, Yakemchuk won't be an option for a call-up ahead of Thursday's clash with Detroit. The 20-year-old blueliner has yet to make his NHL debut and may have to wait until next season to do so. Still, with 25 points in 41 minor-league tilts this year, Yakemchuk could have decent future value in dynasty formats.

  • Senators' Carter Yakemchuk: Up from AHL

Yakemchuk was recalled from AHL Belleville on Monday. Yakemchuk has seven goals and 25 points in 41 minor-league appearances this season. The 20-year-old defenseman is still waiting for a chance to make his NHL debut, but he will probably head back to the AHL once Jake Sanderson returns from the 2026 Winter Olympics.

  • Senators' Carter Yakemchuk: Scores twice for Belleville

Yakemchuk scored two goals in AHL Belleville's 5-3 loss to Syracuse on Friday. This was Yakemchuk's first multi-goal game at the AHL level. He has three goals and an assist over the last four contests and a total of 23 points in 35 outings this season. Yakemchuk also has a minus-24 rating, and he'll need to make some improvements defensively before he'll be in line for a full-time NHL role.

  • Senators' Carter Yakemchuk: One of each in AHL win

Yakemchuk scored a goal on five shots and added an assist in AHL Belleville's 4-0 win over Toronto on Wednesday. Yakemchuk has a pair of multi-point efforts so far this season, his first at the AHL level. The 20-year-old defenseman is at three goals, eight assists and 28 shots on net, but his defensive flaws are showing with a minus-9 rating. The scoring potential is tantalizing, and dynasty managers should be patient as he gains professional experience. It doesn't look like the Senators will call him up while Thomas Chabot (upper body) is out, but another injury or two on the big club's blue line could give Yakemchuk a chance to make his NHL debut.

  • Senators' Carter Yakemchuk: Assigned to minors

Yakemchuk was loaned to AHL Belleville on Monday. Yakemchuk produced 17 goals and 49 points in 56 regular-season games for WHL Calgary in 2024-25. He will begin his professional career in the minors, but it wouldn't be surprising if he made his NHL debut at some point this campaign.

  • Senators' Carter Yakemchuk: Recalled from WHL Calgary

Yakemchuk was called up from WHL Calgary on Saturday. Yakemchuk was selected seventh overall by Ottawa in the 2024 NHL Draft and managed 17 goals and 49 points across 56 regular-season WHL games in 2024-25. The blueliner added two goals and five assists in playoff contests. He will likely sit during the Senators' playoff run and gain valuable experience.

  • Senators' Carter Yakemchuk: Returned to junior team

Yakemchuk was loaned to WHL Calgary on Monday. Yakemchuk compiled 30 goals, 71 points and 120 PIM across 66 regular-season WHL contests with the Hitmen in 2023-24. He turned heads during Ottawa's training camp, supplying two tallies and five assists in four exhibition outings, but will return to the junior ranks for additional development. The 19-year-old blueliner could land a roster spot with the Senators entering the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Senators' Carter Yakemchuk: Two helpers Friday

Yakemchuk provided two assists in Friday's 4-3 overtime exhibition win against Detroit. Yakemchuk is showing why he was taken No. 7 overall in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft -- the young blueliner leads the Senators in points during the preseason with seven. Four of the Calgary native's seven points have come on the power play, and he's averaged 21:07 of ice time in four contests. If Yakemchuk is returned to the WHL this season, it'll likely be his final year there before turning pro.

  • Senators' Carter Yakemchuk: Two-point effort Tuesday

Yakemchuk scored a goal and an assist, both on the power play, in Tuesday's 4-3 preseason win over the Canadiens. The young blueliner potted what proved to be the game-winning goal, ripping a one-timer from the top of the faceoff circle past Cayden Primeau early in the third period. Yakemchuk just turned 19 years old Sunday and was expected to head back to the WHL for his final season of junior eligibility, but he's been very impressive in camp and the preseason after being selected seventh overall in the 2024 Draft. Thomas Chabot (undisclosed) also left Tuesday's game early, and if he's forced to miss the beginning of the regular season, the Senators may give serious thought to keeping Yakemchuk around.
