Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Three-point effort against Boston
Svechnikov scored two power-play goals and added an even-strength assist in Thursday's 8-2 win over the Bruins.
The 24-year-old winger has had a strong start to the season as part of a Carolina offense that has scored at least three goals in eight straight matches and sits seventh in the NHL with 3.89 goals per game. Svechnikov has gotten onto the scoresheet in four straight contests, and through nine outings he's collected four goals and 10 points. He hasn't stayed healthy for anything close to a full campaign since 2021-22 when he delivered 30 goals and 69 points in 78 regular-season games, but if Svechnikov can stay on the ice in 2024-25, a career-best season should follow for the second overall pick in the 2018 Draft.

Svechnikov recorded one goal, one power-play assist, four PIM, eight shots and a hit in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Blues.

He's reached the 50-point plateau in each of his last three seasons, and while he's endured a slow start in the scoring column, Svechnikov's likely to ultimately extend that streak as long as he retains a top-six forward role.

Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Scoring drought continues
Svechnikov fired five shots on goal and dished out three hits during Thursday's 4-0 blanking of the Red Wings, but failed to crack the scoresheet for the third consecutive game.
Although Svechnikov has missed 21 games due to injury this season, he is still producing at a near point-per-game pace with 46 points (17G, 29A) in 53 games. Svechnikov tends to go cold for long stretches, he currently has just three points in his last 10 games, but when the scoring comes, it tends to come in bunches. The overall approach with the 24-year-old Russian is simply to remain patient, however, his fantasy appeal has obviously taken a bit of a hit recently with the arrival of Jake Guentzel, who has taken his place on the Canes' top line. As long as Svechnikov continues to see solid minutes, he is currently averaging 17:04 TOI with 2:32 on the power play, it shouldn't take long for his next hot streak to materialize.
