  • Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Lone marker in loss

Cozens scored a goal on three shots, blocked one shot, delivered four hits and was whistled for two PIM in Tuesday's 6-1 loss the Montreal. Cozens provided the lone highlight of the night for Buffalo with a second-period snipe as a trailer from the high slot that beat Montreal goalie Sam Montembeault glove-side. The goal was Cozens' seventh of the season and first in six outings.

  • Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Tallies in overtime loss

Cozens scored a goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Jets. Cozens' first-period tally put the Sabres ahead 2-1, but they couldn't solve Connor Hellebuyck a third time. With three goals and two assists over his last six outings, Cozens has found his way on offense in a second-line role. The 23-year-old center is at 12 points, 72 shots on net, 51 hits, 20 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 26 appearances.

  • Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Two points Friday

Cozens produced a goal and an assist in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to Vancouver. Cozens helped his club earn a point Friday -- he cut Vancouver's lead to 3-2 before registering the primary assist on Alex Tuch's game-tying goal at 14:57 of the third period. That point for Buffalo could be crucial down the line for a team that is battling to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2010-11 season. Cozens has the ability to be an important player for the Sabres -- he accounted for 31 goals and 68 points across 81 regular-season games in 2022-23, but followed that up with 18 goals and 47 points over 79 regular-season contests in 2023-24. Cozens has notched five goals and five assists through 23 games.

  • Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Tallies in win

Cozens scored a goal on eight shots and added three hits in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Sharks. Cozens had one of his best games of the year, ending a four-game point drought. The 23-year-old center tied the game at 2-2 in the third period, laying the foundation for the Sabres' rally to their third straight win. He's up to four goals, eight points, 61 shots on net, 46 hits, 14 blocked shots, 16 PIM and a minus-5 rating through 21 appearances. Cozens is shooting just 6.6 percent this year while increasing his shot volume from 2023-24, but that should improve.

  • Sabres' Dylan Cozens: One of each in Monday's loss

Cozens potted a goal and earned a power-play assist in Monday's 7-5 loss to Montreal. Cozens' points tied the game at 2-2 and 4-4, but the Canadiens pulled ahead of the Sabres in the third period. The 23-year-old forward has lit the lamp in three of his last six appearances following a 10-game goal drought to begin the season. Cozens has seven points through 16 outings in 2024-25 and sits second on the Sabres with 46 shots on net.

  • Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Lights lamp vs. Rangers

Cozens scored a goal and took four shots in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Rangers. Cozens has found the back of the net in two of his last four contests. Those have been his only two goals in the campaign, and while the 23-year-old has been playing better in recent weeks after a slow start to the season, he's not producing enough -- or with any kind of consistency -- to be trusted as a reliable fantasy option across all formats.

  • Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Finds first goal of season

Cozens scored a power-play goal, added three hits and logged two PIM in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Islanders. Cozens opened the season with no points over five games. His offense has started to come around, but he hadn't scored until his opening tally 9:03 into Friday's game. He's collected four points, 33 shots on net, 22 hits, 16 PIM and a minus-3 rating through 11 contests overall. Given Cozens has maintained a healthy shot volume, his struggles appear to be simply bad luck rather than poor performance, and he remains in a spot to succeed on the second line and first power-play unit.

  • Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Assists in consecutive games

Cozens provided an assist in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blackhawks. Cozens has earned both of his helpers this season over the last two games. The 23-year-old center's slow start can be partially attributed to the Sabres' 0-for-21 mark on the power play. Cozens' line has also been a bit sluggish on offense, but he appears to be turning things around. He's added 23 shots on net, 12 hits, 12 PIM and a minus-2 rating over seven contests.

  • Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Nabs helper in loss

Cozens notched an assist, three shots on goal, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Blue Jackets. The assist was Cozens' first point in six games this season, and it's safe to say Thursday was one of his better games. He's added 22 shots on net, 10 hits, 12 PIM and a minus-3 rating so far, though he's maintained a second-line role. Head coach Lindy Ruff sent a message by scratching Jack Quinn for Thursday's game, but it could have just as easily been Cozens or Zach Benson, who were joined by Jiri Kulich on the second line. Getting more production from the young players will be key in turning around the Sabres' 1-4-1 start, and at 23 years old, Cozens should be setting the example for his linemates since he has a 31-goal, 68-point season under his belt from 2022-23.

  • Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Two goals, three points in win

Cozens tallied two goals and added an assist in Monday's 4-2 win over Tampa Bay. Cozens opened the scoring 1:26 into the first period, firing a loose puck over the shoulder of Andrei Vasilevskiy before adding a shorthanded marker in the second. The 23-year-old Cozens would grab a third point with an assist on Zach Benson's tally in the third. Cozens entered Monday's contest with just one goal and four points over his previous 14 games. He'll wrap up the season with 18 goals and 47 points in 79 games, a significant step back from his 31-goal/68-point campaign in 2022-23.

  • Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Nabs assist in win

Cozens logged an assist and two shots on goal in Monday's 6-2 win over the Kraken. Cozens has three points over his last four contests, but he'd gone four games without a point prior to that. The 23-year-old remains in a top-six role despite some inconsistency on offense this month. He's up to 41 points, 171 shots on net, 87 hits and a minus-3 rating through 66 appearances.

  • Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Goal drought extended

Cozens picked up an assist in Tuesday's 7-3 win over Detroit but couldn't break out of a five-game goal drought despite firing five shots on net. Cozens' inability to bend the twine hasn't been for a lack of trying, as he has put 16 shots on net during his five-game slump. The 23-year-old center almost certainly won't be matching last season's numbers -- he put up 31 goals in 81 games last season -- and could even be in danger of missing the 20-goal threshold if he doesn't start scoring soon.

  • Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Pair of points in win

Cozens scored a goal on four shots, added an assist and went plus-3 in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Kings. Cozens helped out on the Sabres' first goal and then added an insurance tally to round out the scoring. The 22-year-old has three goals and three helpers over his last six outings. He was reunited with John-Jason Peterka and Jack Quinn as his wingers for Wednesday's game, and that trio could stick after combining for four goals in the comeback win. Cozens is up to nine tallies, 26 points, 113 shots on net, 40 hits, 31 PIM and a minus-4 rating through 45 contests overall.

He was outstanding last season, scoring 31 times while adding 37 assists in 81 contests. However, he has regressed this season, earning just seven goals and 22 points through 42 outings. Cozens is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and won't play versus Chicago on Thursday, per Bleacher Report's Joe Yerdon. Cozens had a terrific season in 2022-23, scoring 31 times while adding 37 assists in 81 games. He has struggled this season, scoring only seven times with 15 helpers in 42 contests. He helped set up John-Jason Peterka for the game's opening tally midway through the first period, and Cozens then capped the scoring with an empty-netter just before the final horn. The performance snapped a brief four-game point drought for Cozens, and the 22-year-old is having trouble regaining his 2022-23 form, scoring seven goals and 22 points in 40 contests this season.

It's the second multi-point performance in the last three games for Cozens, and after a quiet November the 22-year-old has two goals and nine points over the last 11 contests.

He went on to set up both of Casey Mittelstadt's goals in the third, one which tied the game at 2-2 and the other going into an empty net. Cozens has maintained a top-six role despite his sluggish offense and the Sabres' return to health up front in recent weeks. For the year, the 22-year-old center has five goals, 11 helpers, 74 shots on net, 26 hits, 25 PIM and a minus-4 rating over 29 appearances.
