NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Taylor Barnette drilled three 3-point jumpers in overtime as Belmont held off Lipscomb for a 78-76 win on Tuesday night.
Trailing 76-72 with less than a minute remaining in the extra period, Barnette nailed a trey and then hit the winner with five seconds left. Lipscomb's Kenny Cooper missed one from long range as time ran out.
Rob Marberry almost won it for Lipscomb in overtime as he slammed home two dunks, blocked a shot and stole the ball twice.
There were 12 lead changes in the game with Lipscomb leading 36-26 at the break. Belmont won the second half 39-29 and led 65-63 with 42 seconds left. Two late free throws by Garrison Mathews tied it at 65 to end regulation.
Evan Bradds led Belmont (3-3) with 18 points, Amanze Egekeze added 15 and grabbed a career-best 12 rebounds and Barnette added 14 points.
Mathews had 25 points for Lipscomb (3-7).
