76ers' Justin Edwards: Starting Thursday
Edwards will be in the starting lineup for Thursday's matchup with the Pistons, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
This will be Edwards' sixth start of the season, and he'll be joined in the first unit by VJ Edgecombe, Trendon Watford, Quentin Grimes and Dominick Barlow. As a starter this season, Edwards has compiled averages of 7.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals per contest.

76ers' Justin Edwards: Near double-double vs. Detroit
Edwards logged 12 points (5-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds, five assists and four steals over 29 minutes during the 76ers' 131-109 loss to the Pistons on Thursday.
The 76ers are dealing with injuries to multiple starters including Kelly Oubre (elbow) and Tyrese Maxey (finger), which led to Edwards making his sixth start of the season Thursday. Edwards took advantage of the opportunity by setting a season high in steals and came one rebound shy from recording his first double-double of the 2025-26 campaign. Oubre is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks, so Edwards could remain a starter for as long as the former is sidelined.

Edwards is back with the parent club ahead of Sunday's game in Boston after he made his fifth G League appearance of the season in the Blue Coats' 143-123 win over the Grand Rapids Gold on Saturday, when he finished with 32 points (13-23 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 1-4 FT), five rebounds, five steals, two assists and one block in 38 minutes. Despite the strong showing in the G League, Edwards isn't guaranteed to be part of the Philadelphia rotation Sunday.

The 22-year-old has been a bench option for Philadelphia during most of the season and could retain that role in the short term, looking to improve on his averages of 5.1 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 15.6 minutes per contest.

He's seen his playing time at the NBA level diminish as of late even in the absence of Kelly Oubre (knee), who has been sidelined since mid-November.
