Celtics' Ron Harper: Inks Exhibit 10 deal with Boston
The Celtics signed Harper (shoulder) to an Exhibit 10 contract Sunday, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports.
Harper spent the 2023-24 season as a two-way player for Toronto, but was waived in December after undergoing season-ending surgery on his left shoulder. He's since recovered from the procedure and logged three points and a block across 10 minutes with the Celtics' Summer League team Saturday. Harper's Exhibit 10 deal will earn him an invite to training camp and gives Boston his G league rights..

Ron Harper: Let go by Toronto
The Raptors announced Friday that they waived Harper from his two-way contract, Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun reports.
Harper will undergo season-ending surgery next week after sustaining a subluxation of the left shoulder while playing for the Raptors 905 of the G League. Harper made just one appearance in the NBA in 2023-24.

Harper (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Tuesday in the Raptors' 106-92 win over the Heat.
Harper, who is one of the Raptors' two two-way players, missed the G League Raptors 905's season finale Saturday against the Greensboro Swarm due to a hip contusion, but he ended up playing two minutes a day later in the NBA club's 114-104 win over the Wizards. With Toronto down five players due to injury Tuesday, Harper suited up again, but he wasn't able to crack head coach Nick Nurse's tight eight-man rotation. With the 905 having wrapped up its season, Harper will be up with the parent club for the rest of the way, but he's unlikely to see the court outside of garbage-time situations.

Harper (ribs) logged 11 points (5-13 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 0-2 FT), seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks across 30 minutes during the 905's 112-111 loss to Lakeland on Saturday.
It appears Harper's ribs are fine now, as he sat out only once because of his previous injury. Across the 905's future playing schedule this month, he is expected to back up Jeff Dowtin and Joe Wieskamp, the team's preferred starting backcourt.

Harper's double-double was his first since the 905 began their 2023 regular season playing at Long Island. Though he is not expected to frequently log double-digit assists, he does know how to score consistently. Harper has averaged 15.8 points across his last four games.
