Knicks' Miles McBride: Progressing in recovery
McBride (ankle) has progressed to solo on-court work but has yet to practice in a group setting, Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News reports Friday.
McBride hasn't played since Dec. 7 due to a sprained left ankle and doesn't appear to be nearing a return in the immediate future. The 25-year-old guard can be considered week-to-week until the Knicks offer another update on his recovery. With McBride sidelined, Tyler Kolek and Jordan Clarkson will likely continue to see increased playing time.

This rules McBride out of Saturday's game against Orlando, as well as the potential NBA Cup Final should the Knicks advance. Based on this re-evaluation date, a return on Dec. 18 against the Pacers hasn't been ruled out yet, though it seems unlikely he'd play in that one.

Knicks' Miles McBride: May have high-ankle sprain
Head coach Mike Brown told reporters Tuesday that McBride is undergoing further tests on his injured ankle, but Stefan Bondy of The New York Post relays that McBride may have suffered a high-ankle sprain during the Knicks' win over the Magic on Sunday.
McBride was already diagnosed with an ankle sprain and ruled out for Tuesday's NBA Cup quarterfinals matchup against the Raptors, but the injury may be more severe than initially thought. If further tests reveal a high-ankle sprain, that would likely make McBride week-to-week, which would open the door for Jordan Clarkson to take on an expanded role in the Knicks' rotation.

A left ankle sprain forced McBride to exit Sunday's win over the Magic, and the guard will require at least one game to recuperate.
