CBS Sports Network's continued coverage of the 2024 college football season features three games for the Week 4 slate, all included in a Saturday triple-header. Two of the three service academies are in action, with Army getting things kicked off at noon against Rice.
The Black Knights are currently tied with Navy atop the American Athletic Conference standings after picking up a win over FAU a couple weeks ago. This will be the first conference game of the year for Rice, which went 1-2 in an all in-state non-conference slate that included the likes of Houston and Sam Houston.
Then at 3:30 p.m. Memphis travels to Navy as the Tigers look to keep momentum rolling from their road win against Florida State. This will be Memphis' first big test in the AAC. Ryan Silverfield's squad is eyeing a conference championship game appearance for the first time in his tenure, but there's a long road to go before that. That road starts with an undefeated Midshipmen squad.
To wrap things up, FAU travels to UConn. Both teams are still searching for their first win against an FBS opponent. UConn had a particularly tough start to the year, with two Power Four opponents in the Huskies' first three games.

Army was off last week, which means it's played a lighter schedule thus far than most teams around the nation. But that hasn't stopped the Black Knights from taking care of business. They won their first two games by an average of 26 points and have only allowed two offensive touchdowns in two games thus far. Rice's season hasn't gone as well thus far. The Owls' only win in three games came against FCS Texas Southern. They have scored 21 total points against FBS competition otherwise.
Memphis at Navy

Memphis is one of the hottest teams in the country after its road win against Florida State. The Tigers cleared arguably their biggest remaining hurdle and are now considered a legitimate College Football Playoff competitor. But they certainly can't afford to overlook Navy. The Tigers beat the Midshipmen by just four points at home last season, and Navy is off to a nice start of its own with 20-plus-point wins against Bucknell and Temple.
FAU at UConn

UConn came painfully close to a huge win last week as the Huskies went on the road and fell 26-21 to Duke. But Duke held UConn scoreless for almost 12-straight minutes in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. Still, it should give the Huskies some confidence as they turn their eyes towards a more manageable game against FAU. The Owls had their own close scrape with a power conference team in Week 1 with a narrow 16-10 loss against Michigan State.
