Top Chris Boucher News

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Double-doubles off bench

Boucher provided 11 points (4-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 10 rebounds and one block in 21 minutes during Monday's 122-121 loss to the Bulls.

Despite being healthy, Boucher didn't appear in any of Toronto's previous three games. However, he was thrust into an expanded role late in Monday's loss to the Bulls after Jakob Poeltl (groin) left the contest. Poeltl is set for an MRI to determine the severity of the injury, but if he misses time, Boucher should have a consistent role in the frontcourt, sharing time with Kelly Olynyk and Jonathan Mogbo. When Boucher has played 20-plus minutes this season (10 games), he's averaged 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals-plus-blocks in 22.3 minutes per game.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Non-factor in win Tuesday

Boucher finished Tuesday's 122-111 win over the Pacers with six points (2-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds and two assists in 14 minutes.

Boucher offered very little Tuesday, continuing his recent run of low production. He has scored no more than 10 points in each of the past six games, adding three total blocks. The Raptors continue to deal with injuries to multiple players, yet Boucher has been unable to carve out a consistent role. Despite a somewhat fantasy-friendly game, it appears Boucher would need a minor miracle to have any chance of playing a significant role moving forward.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Leads from three off bench in win

Boucher provided 22 points (7-13 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 5-8 FT), four rebounds, one block and two steals over 26 minutes during Thursday's 110-105 victory over the Timberwolves.

Boucher put together one of his best outings of the season Thursday, coming off the bench and leading all Raptors players in threes made while surpassing the 20-point mark in a winning effort. Boucher has connected on at least three threes in four outings this season, now having reached 20 or more points in two contests.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Leads bench with 15 points

Boucher logged 15 points (5-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and four rebounds in 20 minutes during Saturday's 126-123 overtime loss to the Celtics.

Boucher ended Saturday's game as the Raptors' third-leading scorer behind Jakob Poeltl (35) and RJ Barrett (25). Boucher has reached double-digit points in seven of his last 10 outings, and over that span, he has averaged 11.5 points and 4.5 rebounds over 18.6 minutes per game.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Productive off bench Sunday

Boucher produced 18 points (6-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal in 20 minutes during Sunday's 123-103 loss to the Lakers.

Boucher has been making the most of his minutes in recent games, and the veteran forward is making a strong case to see even more playing time with how he's been playing. He's scored in double digits in four of his last five outings, averaging 15.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in that stretch.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Provides spark off bench

Boucher chipped in 17 points (7-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt), four rebounds and one assist across 25 minutes during Wednesday's 122-107 loss to the Kings.

With Kelly Olynyk (back) still sidelined, Boucher continues to operate as one of Toronto's primary bench options in the frontcourt. However, Boucher has been putting up inconsistent production, as he has scored 13 or more points in four of his nine appearances, but also four or fewer points in four outings. This season, Boucher is averaging 10.6 points and 4.0 rebounds in 18.1 minutes.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Adds 24 points off bench

Boucher had 24 points (9-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds and one assist across 25 minutes during Saturday's 131-128 overtime victory over the Kings.

Boucher was finally able to capitalize on his recent uptick in playing time, posting a season-high 24 points while drilling 69.2 percent of his attempts from the field. The opportunities should continue to be there for the 31-year-old until Scottie Barnes (orbital) returns to health, which could be at least a few more weeks.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Empty performance Friday

Boucher chipped in nine points (3-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two rebounds and one assist over 14 minutes during Friday's 131-125 loss to the Lakers.

Boucher continues to play a handful of extra minutes due to injuries, although he has been unable to make the most of his opportunity. The fact he is not measuring up even with three key pieces sidelined does not bode well for his production moving forward. At this point, it appears as though his best days are behind him.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Leads team in scoring

Boucher finished Wednesday's 136-106 loss to Cleveland with 18 points (5-9 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 4-6 FT), two rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 20 minutes.

Boucher's efficient shooting from behind the arc helped him lead the Raptors in scoring despite coming off the bench. If Kelly Olynyk (back) misses more time, Boucher should continue to operate as a primary backup in Toronto's frontcourt.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Not on injury report

Boucher (knee) will be available for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers.

After missing Friday's preseason game against the Nets with a mild contusion, Boucher isn't listed on Toronto's official injury report for the regular-season opener. With Kelly Olynyk (back) sidelined Wednesday, Boucher could get the backup center minutes behind Jakob Poeltl, putting the former on the streaming radar.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Exits with knee injury

Boucher will not return to Friday's preseason matchup with the Nets due to a right knee contusion, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The severity of Boucher's injury is not known at this time. He accumulated 10 points (3-8 FG, 2-4 3PT, 2-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal before exiting. When healthy, he is expected to provide frontcourt depth for the Raptors this season.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Drops 22 points in preseason loss

Boucher tallied 22 points (7-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT) and seven rebounds in 18 minutes during Friday's preseason loss to the Wizards.

Boucher turned back the clock in the loss, scoring a team-high 22 points. Following periods of fantasy relevance, Boucher has fallen off a cliff in recent seasons, struggling to play a consistent role for the Raptors. Although this was a trip down memory lane, it does not mean managers should lean into the nostalgia come draft day.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Leads bench with 13 points

Boucher finished Sunday's 125-98 preseason win over the Wizards with 13 points (5-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt), six rebounds and one block across 18 minutes.

Boucher was one of seven Raptors players to score in double digits Sunday, with five of those members of the second unit. He saw his playing time dip during the 2023-24 campaign compared to previous seasons, but the 31-year-old Boucher is looking to make a larger impact off the bench for the upcoming year.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Improved mindset for 2024-25

Boucher (knee) has done a lot of work this offseason to ensure his mind is in the right place to start the 2024-25 campaign, Michael Grange of sportsnet.ca reports.

Boucher was reportedly upset with his role last season, averaging just 6.4 points and 4.1 rebounds in 14.1 minutes across 50 appearances, all of which were coming off the bench. While Boucher isn't necessarily slated for an increased role in 2024-25, it seems as though the 31-year-old big man is more willing to accept a depth role.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Won't play Sunday

Boucher (knee) is out for Sunday's game against the Heat, Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun reports.

Boucher last played March 9, when he recorded 16 points and eight rebounds across 31 minutes in a road loss to the Trail Blazers. The big man missed Toronto's final 18 contests, and he finished the campaign with averages of 6.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per game across 50 appearances off the bench. From a statistical perspective, this was Boucher's worst year since the 2018-19 campaign, his second season in the NBA.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Remains out indefinitely

Boucher (knee) won't play Wednesday against the Nets, Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports.

Boucher will miss his 16th consecutive game Wednesday while he continues to recover from the partial MCL tear in his right knee. The Raptors haven't indicated that Boucher has resumed on-court work, so he'll most likely miss the team's remaining two games of the season after Wednesday.

  • Raptors' Chris Boucher: Out indefinitely

Boucher (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Lakers and remains out indefinitely, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Boucher suffered a partial MCL tear in his right knee in early March and doesn't have a return timetable. It wouldn't be surprising if Boucher misses the rest of the 2023-24 regular season.
