Broncos' Jonathon Cooper: Finishes 2025 with 8.0 sacks
Cooper recorded 50 tackles (23 solo), including 8.0 sacks, and four passes defensed over 17 games in 2025.
Cooper continued to be a key contributor for Denver's top-tier pass rushing unit in 2025, recording the second-most sacks of any Broncos defender behind only Nik Bonitto (14.0). The 28-year-old linebacker signed a four-year extension in 2024, keeping Cooper and Bonitto under contract together for the foreseeable future. Cooper's continued development should help him to build upon his performance as one of the leaders of Denver's defense in 2026.

Broncos' Jonathon Cooper: Upgrades to full practice
Cooper (thumb) was a full participant in Tuesday's walkthrough.
Cooper was estimated as a limited participant in Monday's practice, but his improved status Tuesday should line him up to play Thursday against the Raiders. Cooper has been a key pass rusher for the Broncos, logging seven sacks through nine games to begin the campaign.

Broncos' Jonathon Cooper: Limited to begin week
Cooper (thumb) was estimated as a limited practice participant Monday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
Cooper played his typical role in Denver's Week 9 win over the Texans, logging two tackles while playing 40 percent of defensive snaps. It's unclear when the injury occurred, though it doesn't appear to be too serious considering that he was still estimated to be able to practice to begin the week. Cooper's status for Thursday's Week 10 matchup against the Raiders should become clearer as the week progresses.

Broncos' Jonathon Cooper: Nursing quad injury
Cooper was limited in Wednesday's practice due to a quadriceps injury.
Cooper likely picked up the injury during the Broncos' Week 6 win over the Jets, when he tallied 2.0 sacks. He would avoid an injury designation heading into Sunday's game against the Giants if he practices in full over the next two days. The 2021 seventh-rounder is up to 18 tackles (10 solo), including 4.5 sacks, and two pass defenses through the first six games of the regular season.
