Browns' Carson Schwesinger: Heads to IR with ankle injury
The Browns placed Schwesinger (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday.
Schwesinger was ruled out for the Browns' season finale Friday, but the move to injured reserve likely created space for Edefuan Ulofoshio to move up to the active roster. Schwesinger, a 2025 second-round pick, ends his stellar rookie campaign with 156 tackles (67 solo), including 2.5 sacks, and three pass breakups, including two interceptions. Jerome Baker will likely have an expanded role in Week 18 with Schwesinger out.

Browns' Carson Schwesinger: Missing season finale
Schwesinger (quadriceps/ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Bengals, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Schwesinger didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday due to quadricep and ankle injuries, and he's now in line to miss his first game of the season Sunday. The 2025 second-round pick from UCLA had a stellar rookie campaign, finishing with 156 total tackles, including 2.5 sacks, and three passes defensed, with two interceptions, over 16 appearances. Jerome Baker will likely have an expanded role in the Browns' linebacker corps while Schwesinger is sidelined in Week 18.

Browns' Carson Schwesinger: Held out of practice Wednesday
Schwesinger (quad/ankle) was a non-participant in practice Wednesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Schwesinger has been managing an ankle issue since late November, and he was said to have played through a thigh injury this past Sunday in a win over Pittsburgh. He's now listed as also dealing with a quad issue, though it's not clear if it's related to the aforementioned thigh problem. Regardless, the dynamic rookie's practice status the remainder of the week should provide insight into how serious his injuries are. Cleveland doesn't have much to play for Week 18 against Cincinnati, but Schwesinger -- who has 156 tackles on the season -- does have an outside chance of reaching Patrick Willis' record for stops by a rookie (174).

Browns' Carson Schwesinger: Played through injury
Schwesinger played through a thigh injury in Sunday's 13-6 win over Pittsburgh, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Schwesinger was clearly hobbled by the injury but was never removed from the game. The rookie linebacker played all 66 snaps on defense and another five on special teams. His nine tackles tied for team high and upped his season total to a team-leading 156 over 16 games. Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Schwesinger is rehabbing and progressing in preparation for Sunday's season finale against the Bengals.

Browns' Carson Schwesinger: Continues impressive campaign
Schwesinger tallied 14 tackles (five solo), including 1.0 sacks, in a Week 16 loss to Buffalo on Sunday.
Schwesinger dealt with an ankle issue during the week but was on the field for all 50 of Cleveland's defensive snaps Sunday. The injury didn't impact his performance, as the talented rookie racked up a career-high 14 stops for the second straight week. Among his tackles was a third-down sack of Josh Allen in the fourth quarter that forced a Buffalo punt. Schwesinger is up to 147 stops, including 2.5 sacks, on the campaign. He also has three defensed passes, including two interceptions.

Browns' Carson Schwesinger: Ready for Sunday
Schwesinger (ankle) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Bills, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
The 22-year-old upgraded from limited practice Wednesday and Thursday to a full session Friday, suggesting he's moved past his ankle issue in time to play Sunday. Schwesinger has had an incredible rookie campaign thus far, recording 133 total tackles, including 1.5 sacks, and three passes defensed, with two interceptions, over 14 contests. He's expected to serve as the Browns' top middle linebacker in Week 16.

Browns' Carson Schwesinger: Limited Wednesday
Schwesinger (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Schwesinger has been limited in practice with the ankle injury for the last few weeks but has continued to play through the ailment. Browns' Carson Schwesinger: Logs another big tackle total
Schwesinger notched 14 tackles (four solo) in Sunday's blowout loss to the Bears.
Schwesinger paced the Browns in tackles in a losing effort. The rookie continued to deal with an ankle issue during the week but played every defensive snap for Cleveland and finished with a career-high tackle total. Schwesinger continues to be a standout IDP performer in fantasy circles, as he's now posted double-digit stops in six straight games.

Browns' Carson Schwesinger: Set to play Sunday
Schwesinger (ankle) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Bears, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Similar to the injury report status from Week 14, Schwesinger was again limited both Wednesday and Thursday, but he should not be impacted for Week 15 as he has no injury designation heading into Sunday's contest against the Bears. The standout rookie has 119 tackles (55 solo), including 1.5 sacks, and three pass breakups, including two interceptions, in 13 games this season.

Browns' Carson Schwesinger: Paces Browns with 13 stops Week 14
Schwesinger notched 13 tackles (six solo) and a defensed pass Sunday in a loss to Tennessee.
Schwesinger continued his standout rookie campaign, leading Cleveland in tackles and setting a new single-game career-high mark. The talented linebacker has now recorded double-digit stops in five consecutive contests as he's quickly established himself as a premier IDP option. With 119 stops on the season, Schwesinger has already put his name in the Browns' record books with the highest mark by a rookie, though it would take a huge finish to the campaign for him to reach the NFL rookie record of 174 tackles set by Patrick Willis in 2007.

Browns' Carson Schwesinger: Ready to rock
Schwesinger (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Titans, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Schwesinger was able to upgrade to full participation in practice Friday, just in time to dodge an injury designation for Sunday's contest. The linebacker has been consistently playing through the ankle injury he likely sustained against the Raiders in Week 12, and this week seems to be no different. The rookie second-rounder is the green dot of the defense, so the Browns maintaining a consistent signal caller for Week 14 should have a large impact on that side of the ball.

Browns' Carson Schwesinger: Limited again by ankle
Schwesinger (ankle) was limited at Thursday's practice.
Schwesinger was limited for a second consecutive practice, presumably with the same ankle injury that the rookie linebacker dealt with last week. He's been limited during practices with ankle or shoulder injuries the last month, but Schwesinger logged double-digit tackles in four straight contests. That four-game stretch was influential in him being named the Defensive Rookie of the Month for November, per Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site.

Browns' Carson Schwesinger: Limited Wednesday due to ankle issue
Schwesinger (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
Schwesinger produced double-digit tackles for the fourth straight week against the 49ers on Sunday, but he also suffered an ankle injury during the loss. It's promising that he was able to practice Wednesday, albeit in a limited fashion, and the rookie linebacker will have two more days this week to return to full participation. In the event Schwesinger isn't able to suit up Sunday versus Tennessee, Jerome Baker could step into a more prominent role.
