Iheanachor will start at right tackle against the Bengals on Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Iheanachor played a total of four offensive snaps through the first two games of the regular season while serving as a depth option, but the rookie first-rounder will be a starter Sunday for the first time in his short NFL career. Iheanachor (shoulder) is unlikely to play in Friday's preseason game against the Jets, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

There's still no concrete timetable for Iheanachor's return to the field, but Pittsburgh may take a more conservative approach with the 2026 first-round pick. Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy said Friday that Iheanachor (upper body) will be held out of practice until Monday, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
It's not clear when Iheanachor sustained the injury, but he'll be held out of practice over the weekend and focus on rest and recovery ahead of Thursday's preseason opener against Green Bay. Iheanachor was a first-round selection of the Steelers in the 2026 NFL Draft and is battling for a starting role on the offensive line.

Iheanachor (6-foot-6, 321 pounds) is light on experience but extremely athletic, boasting a 4.91-second 40 (96th percentile among offensive tackles, according to Mockdraftable) even at a dense build. It's not clear how concerning the medical reports have been on incumbent left tackle Broderick Jones (neck), but it's possible that the Steelers will consider Iheanachor at left guard if he doesn't claim the starting left tackle role.
