  • Buccaneers' Trey Palmer: Working through illness

Palmer (illness) was listed as a DNP on Thursday's injury report.

Palmer hasn't registered a catch over his last three games and it appears he is now under the weather. It's unclear what sort of ailment he's working through, but Friday's practice report should provide clarity on Palmer's status heading into Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

  • Buccaneers' Trey Palmer: Exclusively works as returner again

Palmer did not see a target over 17 snaps from scrimmage and returned one punt for 10 yards in the Buccaneers' 40-17 win over the Chargers on Sunday.

Palmer saw the fourth-most snaps among Tampa Bay's wide receivers, but he failed to draw a target for the second straight contest. The speedy second-year man has a modest 10-141-1 receiving line on the season and 118 total return yards, but his current fantasy value would be limited to very deep leagues that factor in special-teams statistics.

  • Buccaneers' Trey Palmer: Limited to special teams in win

Palmer did not draw a target and returned one punt for three yards in the Buccaneers' 28-13 win over the Raiders on Sunday. He also fumbled but recovered.

Palmer was able to work through a hip injury to suit up, but he went without a target for only the second time this season and played just seven snaps on offense overall. The second-year wideout saw fellow reserve Rakim Jarrett outpace him by three snaps and may essentially be in a timeshare for the No. 4 receiver spot with the latter at this point. However, with the majority of Baker Mayfield's attention centered on top three receivers Mike Evans, Jalen McMillan and Sterling Shepard -- and a fair share of targets also going to Cade Otton, Rachaad White and Bucky Irving (back) -- there isn't much left to go around for anyone else in the pass-catching corps.

  • Buccaneers' Trey Palmer: Will play Sunday vs. Vegas

Palmer (hip) is active for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Palmer was questionable to play Sunday due to a hip injury that limited him in practice Thursday and Friday. However, the 2023 sixth-round pick has done enough over the weekend to be cleared to play, and he will continue to serve in a depth role at wide receiver behind Mike Evans, Jalen McMillan and Sterling Shepard. Palmer has logged 10 catches (on 18 targets) for 141 yards and one touchdown across 10 regular-season games.

  • Buccaneers' Trey Palmer: Questionable to face Raiders

Palmer (hip) is listed as quesitonable for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Palmer's status is in doubt after a hip injury limited his practice participation Thursday and Friday. Even if he suits up, Palmer will likely remain in a depth role behind Mike Evans, Jalen McMillan and Sterling Shepard. Evans doesn't have an injury designation after battling hamstring and calf injuries during the week.

  • Buccaneers' Trey Palmer: Tending to hip injury

Palmer was a limited participant in Thursday's practice due to a hip injury.

Palmer wasn't included on the Buccaneers' initial Week 14 injury report Wednesday, so his limited listing Thursday could be indicative of an in-practice setback. The wideout will likely need to upgrade to full participation in Friday's practice to avoid taking a designation into Sunday's game versus the Raiders.

  • Buccaneers' Trey Palmer: Fails to bring in only target

Palmer failed to bring in his only target during the Buccaneers' 26-23 overtime win over the Panthers on Sunday.

Palmer played 15 snaps on offense, his third straight game logging under 20 plays from scrimmage. He failed to record a catch for the second time in that span while drawing just a sole target for the third consecutive contest. With the quartet of Mike Evans, Jalen McMillan, Sterling Shepard and Cade Otton -- along with running backs Bucky Irving and Rachaad White -- commanding the overwhelming amount of Baker Mayfield's attention, Palmer heads into a Week 14 home matchup against the Raiders with dim fantasy prospects.

  • Buccaneers' Trey Palmer: Double-digit yards on one catch

Palmer brought in his only target for 18 yards and returned one punt for 15 yards in the Buccaneers' 30-7 win over the Giants on Sunday.

The second-year wideout played 17 snaps (26 percent), placing him behind Jalen McMillan (41 snaps), Mike Evans (39 snaps), Sterling Shepard (35 snaps) and Rakim Jarrett (21 snaps) in terms of the team's wideouts. Palmer figures to remain in a deep reserve role as long as injuries don't strike in front of him on the depth chart, but he's now recorded at least one catch in five of the last six contests.
