Tampa (ankle) was activated from injured reserve Thursday.

Tampa does not carry an injury designation into the weekend and he will make his return to the field for the first time since being placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury Oct. 25. Baltimore placed Tampa on its active/PUP list Monday but did not disclose the nature of his injury at that time. Now, it's not yet clear whether he'll be ready to play again in time for Week 1, but if he's not, it could create a more open path to regular playing time for fellow rookie Nate Wiggins.

  • Ravens' T.J. Tampa: Placed on PUP list

The Ravens placed Tampa on the PUP list Monday with an undisclosed injury, Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Tampa was a full participant in spring practices, and while the nature of his current injury remains undisclosed, he can come off the PUP list at any point throughout training camp or the preseason. The rookie fourth-round pick out of Iowa State boasts intriguing speed and size, but in order to earn more than a depth role in Baltimore's secondary in Year 1, it would behoove him to get healthy and return to the practice field without missing too many offseason reps.
