Yates walked one and struck out two over a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in a 3-1 win over the White Sox on Wednesday in a game that was suspended due to weather Tuesday.
Yates has allowed just one walk while striking out seven over four hitless innings in his last four appearances since a blown save Aug. 18. The closer is up to 24 saves in 25 chances this year while pitching to a 1.25 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 73:23 K:BB across 50.1 innings. Yates has thrived in a full-time closing role for the first time since 2019 despite the Rangers' overall mediocrity.
