  • Nick Noonan: Released by A's
    By RotoWire

Noonan was released by Oakland on Saturday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports. Noonan earned an invite to Oakland's spring training but was reassigned to minor-league camp after going 2-for-15 in 10 games. The 28-year-old hasn't seen the majors since 2016 and has only 83 career games (155 plate appearances) and a .193/.239/.234 slash line.

  • Noonan was reassigned to minor-league camp Sunday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chroniclereports. Noonan appeared in 10 games this spring, recording two hits and two RBI in 15 at-bats. His .133 batting average wasn't enough to keep him with the major-league camp for long, so he'll be sent to the minor-league fields. Noonan is expected to start the season with Triple-A Nashville.

  • Noonan will attend the Athletics' spring training as a non-roster invitee, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports. Noonan has seen time with five different organizations over the past three seasons, most recently with Triple-A Colorado Springs within the Brewers' farm league. The 28-year-old has appeared in just 83 big-league games during his 11-year professional career and offers very little value at the plate. He'll look to crack the Athletics' Opening Day roster as a reserve utility infielder but will most likely open the 2018 campaign in the minors.

  • Marlins' Nick Noonan: Traded to Marlins
    By RotoWire

Noonan was traded to the Marlins on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports. Miami's infield has been gutted by injuries, so they needed to add some warm bodies to the New Orleans roster to replace all the players recently called up to the majors. Noonan was hitting just .212/.235/.333 in 10 games for Triple-A Colorado Springs prior to switching organizations.
