  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Scores in win
    By RotoWire

Flores went 1-for-3 with a run scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rockies. The 34-year-old lined a single to right field in the second inning before coming around to score on a three-run homer by Casey Schmitt. Since Bryce Eldridge was called up in mid-September, Flores has appeared in six of the Giants' last 12 games, batting .286 with three RBI, three runs scored and a home run in just 14 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's slashing .242/.307/.380 with 71 RBI, 44 runs scored, 16 long balls and a stolen base across 462 plate appearances in 124 outings this season.

  • Flores went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Diamondbacks. Flores was part of the Giants' early rally in the first inning and added his solo shot in the third. This was his second multi-hit effort in a row, and he continues to have a regular spot in the lineup versus southpaws while also playing against some right-handers. Flores' playing time versus could drop with Bryce Eldridge now on the major-league roster, however. For the season, Flores has a .243/.310/.385 slash line with 16 homers, 70 RBI, 43 runs scored and one stolen base over 119 contests.

  • Flores will start at first base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Dodgers. Flores has mostly occupied the short side of a platoon with Dominic Smith (hamstring) since the All-Star break, but with Smith landing on the injured list Saturday, Flores should get the chance to play on a near-everyday basis. The 34-year-old heads into Sunday's contest having produced a .238/.306/.375 slash line with 15 home runs, 67 RBI, 41 runs and one stolen base in 444 plate appearances on the season.

  • Flores went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 7-4 win over the Rockies on Tuesday. The homer was Flores' 15th of the year, and he now has one hit in four of his past five outings. The veteran slugger had 46 RBI through May 31, but he's cooled down dramatically ever since. Over his last 201 plate appearances (55 games), Flores is slashing a frigid .230/.303/.343 with five homers, five doubles and 20 RBI since the start of June.

  • Flores went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a second run scored in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Cubs. Flores has homered twice over his last seven games, though he has gone a modest 4-for-19 (.211) in that span. The infielder's blast in the second inning opened the scoring Tuesday. Flores is up to 14 long balls, 64 RBI, 40 runs scored, one stolen base and nine doubles over 109 games this season. He continues to see steady playing time versus left-handed pitchers with only occasional starts against righties.
