Singleton agreed to a minor-league contract with the Astros on Tuesday, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports. The first baseman elected to become a free agent after being designated for assignment by Houston last week, but he's returned to the organization on a minor-league deal. Singleton has appeared in just three big-league games this season but has seen plenty of action at Triple-A, posting a .224/.373/.451 slash line and slugging 16 homers in 73 contests.

Singleton cleared waivers Thursday and was sent outright to Triple-A Sugar Land. Singleton appeared in three games during his week-long stint with the Astros, going 1-for-9 at the plate before being designated for assignment. He'll officially remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed, and his .887 OPS at Sugar Land will keep him in consideration for a promotion if the Astros' bench depth is tested again later this season.

The Astros selected Singleton's contract from Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports. The veteran first baseman inked a minor-league deal with Houston just under a month ago and will now receive his first look in the majors of 2025. After being let go by the Astros at the end of spring training, Singleton joined the Mets on a minor-league pact before being released in late June. He's played 73 games at the Triple-A level between the two organizations this year and has 16 homers and an .824 OPS.

The Mets signed Singleton to a minor-league contract Wednesday. Singleton was released by the Astros in late March after failing to make their Opening Day roster but didn't have to wait long to find another organization. He put up a .707 OPS with 13 home runs over 119 games with the Astros in the 2024 regular season. Singleton will give the Mets some veteran first base depth at Triple-A Syracuse.
