• Dodgers' Kirby Yates: Agrees to terms with LAD

  The Dodgers reached a contract agreement with Yates on Tuesday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. Just a couple days after signing the top free-agent relief arm in Tanner Scott, the Dodgers have further fortified their bullpen with the addition of Yates. Slated to turn 38 in March, Yates collected a microscopic 1.17 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 85:28 K:BB over 61.2 innings while notching 33 saves for the Rangers in 2024. It's not an ideal landing spot from a fantasy perspective, as he will have lots of competition for saves in the Dodgers' bullpen.

• Rangers' Kirby Yates: Secures save No. 33

  Yates picked up the save over the Angels on Saturday, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning. Yates took the mound with a one-run lead in the bottom of the ninth and retired the side on just nine pitches to secure his 33rd save of the campaign. The veteran reliever has been spectacular in the month of September, recording eight saves while allowing just one hit over 9.1 scoreless innings (10 appearances). He's also issued just one walk over his last four outings.

• Rangers' Kirby Yates: Nails down 32nd save

  Yates walked one in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his 32nd save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Angels. The 37-year-old righty converted his 11th straight save dating back to Aug. 19, a stretch in which he's posted a dazzling 0.63 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB over 14.1 innings. Yates' injury history remains concerning, but his outstanding comeback campaign in 2024 sets his up for a big payday as a free agent this winter.

• Rangers' Kirby Yates: Collects win Sunday

  Yates (7-2) struck out one over a perfect inning to earn the win Sunday over the Mariners. Yates kept the game tied in the top of the ninth inning, and the Rangers walked it off in their half of the frame. Over his last 13.1 innings, Yates has allowed one run while posting an 18:5 K:BB and earning 10 saves and three wins. He's at a 1.21 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 84:27 K:BB across 59.2 innings while going 31-for-32 in save chances this season.

• Rangers' Kirby Yates: Locks down 31st save

  Yates picked up the save over Toronto on Wednesday, striking out two over a perfect ninth inning. Yates took over for David Robertson to start the ninth with the Rangers up 2-0 and got Vladimir Guerrero to go down on strikes in the opening at-bat. The veteran reliever then needed nine pitches to get through the final two batters and log his 31st save of the campaign. Yates has converted all six of his save opportunities in September and hasn't allowed a run since Aug. 29 against the White Sox. He's also recorded multiple strikeouts in two of his last three appearances.
