• Marlins' Mike Morin: Remains off 40-man roster

  Morin (elbow) was reinstated from the 45-day injured list and outrighted to Triple-A New Orleans on Thursday. Morin suffered a UCL injury in his right elbow in August and missed most of the season as a result of the injury. The right-hander fired four scoreless innings prior to being shut down, but he's expected to become a free agent after his outright assignment.

  Morin (elbow) was transferred to the 45-day injured list Tuesday. Morin landed on the injured list with a UCL injury in his right elbow Friday. His move to the 45-day injured list means that he will likely miss the remainder of the regular season, and the transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster. The right-hander was effective over a limited sample this season, firing four scoreless innings while allowing one hit and one walk. He recorded two strikeouts.

  Morin was placed on the 10-day injured list with a UCL injury in his right elbow Friday. Morin left Wednesday's game with the injury. While the transaction was made retroactive to Thursday, meaning he'll be eligible to return Aug. 23, it seems unlikely that he'll be able to do so, given that the Marlins' update specified that the injury was to his UCL. The exact nature of the injury is not yet clear. Josh D. Smith was recalled in a corresponding move.

  Morin (1-0) earned the win Thursday against the Orioles after pitching two scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Morin didn't allow any hits or walks but he also didn't strike out anyone, needing just 19 pitches (13 strikes) to record six outs. This was the first appearance of the season for the 29-year-old right-hander, who posted a 4.62 ERA in 50.2 relief innings last season between the Twins and Phillies.

• Marlins' Mike Morin: Claimed by Marlins

  Morin was claimed off waivers by the Marlins on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports. Morin is expected to join Miami's big-league roster ahead of their next game, the date of which remains uncertain given the team's coronavirus outbreak. Morin, who was designated for assignment by the Brewers, owns a career 4.65 ERA in 224.2 big-league innings, all of which have come in relief.
