  • Royals' Hunter Harvey: Rehab slowing down
    By RotoWire

Harvey (groin) threw a live batting practice session Saturday but experienced soreness afterward, which has slowed his rehab, MLB.com reports. Harvey's rehab from a Grade 2 right adductor strain, which has sidelined him since Aug. 11, has seemingly hit a setback. Since he was traded to the Royals in July 2024, injuries have been a recurring issue, limiting Harvey to just 12 appearances this season -- all scoreless. It's unclear whether this latest snag will prevent him from returning before season's end or if he can still make it back with the big-league club.

  • Royals' Hunter Harvey: Throws light bullpen
    By RotoWire

Harvey (groin) completed a light bullpen session Wednesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. Harvey took another step forward in his recovery from the Grade 2 right adductor strain that has sidelined him since Aug. 11. He threw a short bullpen session of about 15 to 20 pitches, and while it wasn't a full workload, simply getting back on the mound is an encouraging sign in the right-hander's quest to return before season's end. Harvey's 2025 season has been marred by injuries, but he's delivered when available by tossing 12 scoreless appearances.

  • Harvey was diagnosed with a Grade 2 adductor strain and received an injection Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. Manager Matt Quatraro said Tuesday that Harvey is expected to miss a significant amount of time, but the team still believes he could pitch again before the end of the season. A clearer timeline for his return will likely emerge whenever he's cleared to begin a throwing program.

  • Royals' Hunter Harvey: Earns first win
    By RotoWire

Harvey (1-0) earned the win Sunday against the Blue Jays. He allowed a hit and no walks while striking out one over a scoreless inning. Harvey pitched a clean ninth inning to send the game to extras, where a Royals offensive outburst secured him the win. The right-hander missed more than three months with a shoulder injury but has been excellent when available. Since being activated July 27, he has logged 3.1 scoreless innings, improving his season totals to a 0.00 ERA and 0.46 WHIP over 8.2 innings across 10 appearances. While the sample size remains small, it is worth noting that Harvey's fastball velocity has dipped to a career-low 95.9 mph, but he has yet to issue a walk.

  • Royals' Hunter Harvey: Returns from IL
    By RotoWire

The Royals activated Harvey (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Friday. Harvey hasn't pitched in the big leagues since April 7 due to a shoulder strain, but he appeared in three rehab games and is ready to return to the Royals' bullpen. Harvey was off to a hot start this season, registering a 0.00 ERA, 0.19 WHIP and 7:0 K:BB across 5.1 innings prior to his injury. Harvey should slot back in as a top setup man for Kansas City.
