McMahon has gone 7-for-19 with seven walks across nine Cactus League games. McMahon has maintained at least a 10 percent walk rate in three straight regular seasons, so his elevated walk rate in the spring isn't much of a surprise. While he has only two extra-base hits in the exhibition season, he has maintained at least a .165 ISO in five of his last six campaigns.

McMahon is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks are sending southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez to the hill in the matinee, so the left-handed-hitting McMahon will begin the game on the bench. Aaron Schunk is at third base and batting ninth for the Rockies.

McMahon went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 7-4 loss to the Tigers. The Rockies were in a 6-0 hole after the first inning, but McMahon got them on the board in the top of the second by taking Casey Mize deep. McMahon has emerged from his post-All-Star break malaise, and over his last 16 games he's slashing a respectable .262/.328/.426 with three homers, four runs and six RBI. His next long ball will give the 29-year-old his fourth straight 20-homer campaign.

The 29-year-old made his first All-Star game in July but has just four of his 18 homers since the break and is hitting .187/.305/.302 in that stretch.

McMahon is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Atlanta. It's lefty Chris Sale on the bump for Atlanta, so it's a good spot for the left-handed hitting McMahon to get a breather. Aaron Schunk will play third base and bat ninth for the Rockies.
