Sisco signed a minor-league contract with the Cardinals on Saturday. Sisco has spent the past two seasons in the Atlantic League, where he's slashed .274/.416/.609 with 27 homers and 78 RBI over 96 games. He'll report to Triple-A Memphis upon returning to affiliated ball and serve as organizational depth behind the plate for the Cards.

The Twins released Sisco on March 24. Sisco, 28, hasn't appeared in the majors since 2021, when he logged 83 plate appearances between stops with the Orioles and Mets. He'll likely have to settle for a minor-league deal with another organization or explore opportunities in the independent or foreign ranks now that he's back on the open market.

Sisco battled knee problems most of last season, causing him to play in just 10 games with Triple-A St. Paul. The 28-year-old backstop put together a solid spring, slashing .214/.353/.500 over 17 plate appearances, but he'll remain organizational catching depth for now.
