  • Rockies' Ty Blach: Sticks in organization
    By RotoWire

Blach cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. The left-hander was designated for assignment by Colorado over the weekend but will stick in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. Blach has made 20 appearances (12 starts) for the Rockies this season and has a 6.94 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 36:18 K:BB in 71.1 innings.

  • Rockies' Ty Blach: DFA'd by Colorado
    By RotoWire

The Rockies designated Blach for assignment Sunday. Blach was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sept. 1 after Cal Quantrill (tricep) was placed on the 15-day injured list. Blach took the loss in both of his starts since his call-up, allowing 11 runs (10 earned) on 11 hits and two walks while striking out two over 7.2 innings. Blach was serving as a placeholder in the Rockies' rotation, and with Antonio Senzatela (elbow) nearing his return from the 60-day IL, there doesn't appear to be any room on the 40-man roster for the former. Right-hander Victor Vodnik (biceps) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Rockies' Ty Blach: Tagged with eighth loss
    By RotoWire

Blach (3-8) allowed five runs on six hits over 3.2 innings Saturday, he struck out one and took the loss against Milwaukee. Blach fell victim to the long ball, tying a career high with three home runs allowed. He allowed back-to-back homers to Willy Adames and Gary Sanchez in the first inning, and then a two-run blast to William Contreras in the third. Blach was given a second straight start after being called up on Sept. 1, but he's been lit up for five runs in each of those appearances. The 33-year-old has a 6.94 ERA through 71.1 innings this season.

  • Blach is scheduled to start Saturday's game against the Brewers in Milwaukee. The veteran southpaw will pick up a second straight turn through the rotation after he yielded five earned runs on five hits and two walks over four innings last Sunday versus the Orioles in his return from Triple-A Albuquerque. Blach is likely just a placeholder in the rotation until the Rockies get Antonio Senzatela (elbow) back from the 60-day injured list, perhaps as soon as next week.

  • Rockies' Ty Blach: Coughs up five runs
    By RotoWire

Blach (3-7) yielded five runs on five hits and two walks over four innings Sunday, striking out one and taking a loss against Baltimore. Blach was promoted from Triple-A Albuquerque for his first MLB appearance since July 26. He gave up one run through three innings before Baltimore's four-run fourth frame, capped off by James McCann's two-run blast. Blach now owns a 6.65 ERA with a 35:18 K:BB through 67.2 innings with Colorado this season. He's currently scheduled to start in Milwaukee next weekend, but it's unclear if he'll get another turn in the rotation.
