  • Ramirez signed a contract with the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos of the Mexican League on Monday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports. Ramirez has evidently been unable to find a minor-league contract offer to his liking, but his deal with Dos Laredos does not have a buyout should a big-league club come calling later on. The 30-year-old slashed .261/.280/.324 in 73 games between the Rays and Nationals in 2024.

  • Ramirez signed a minor-league contract with Atlanta on Friday, Lindsay Crosby of AthlonSports.com reports. After being released by the Nationals on Aug. 14, Ramirez will now attempt to carve out a role for himself with Atlanta. The 29-year-old has slashed .261/.280/.324 with 29 RBI across 246 plate appearances between the Rays and Nationals this season, though he'll likely need to turn in some positive results at Triple-A Gwinnett before he gets another shot in the majors.

  • The Nationals designated Ramirez for assignment Tuesday, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports. Ramirez slashed just .243/.273/.365 in 25 games for the Nationals, which was only a modest improvement over the .268/.284/.305 he hit with the Rays earlier this season. The 29-year-old still boasts a career .316/.351/.438 batting line against lefties, so he could draw some interest from a club in need a short-side platoon bat.
