  • Asher signed a minor-league contract with the Twins on Tuesday. After being released by the Rockies in mid-March, Asher pitched in the independent Atlantic League during the 2019 season. The right-hander spent most of 2018 with Triple-A Columbus, where he recorded a 6.05 ERA and 1.60 WHIP with a 49:36 K:BB across 16 starts. Asher will have the opportunity to work with the big-league coaching staff before likely returning to the minors until potentially earning another shot with the Twins' bullpen.

  • Asher agreed to a minor-league contract with the Rockies, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports. The right-hander split the 2018 season between the Dodgers and Brewers organizations, logging all but two of his 24 appearances (17 starts) at the Triple-A level. While with the Brewers' Pacific Coast League affiliate at Colorado Springs, Asher posted a 6.05 ERA and 1.59 WHIP across 96.2 innings, numbers that don't portend well for him finding success at Coors Field if he should get a look with the Rockies at any point in 2019.

  • Brewers' Alec Asher: Outrighted to Triple-A
    By RotoWire

Asher cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Friday. Asher was designated for assignment back on Tuesday to make room for Jake Thompson. The 26-year-old's 5.42 career ERA through 119.2 major-league innings wasn't appealing enough for another team to claim him, so he'll remain with the Brewers in an organizational depth role.

The 26-year-old tossed three scoreless innings for the Brewers, but he struggled to a 5.51 ERA across 85 innings with Triple-A Colorado Springs.
