The veteran backstop was designated for assignment Monday and won't stick around with the Orioles after passing through waivers unclaimed. Stallings has an abysmal .134/.195/.168 slash line in 129 plate appearances between the Orioles and Rockies this season.

The Orioles designated Stallings for assignment Monday. Adley Rutschman (oblique) is back from the 10-day injured list, and the Orioles elected to keep Alex Jackson around over Stallings as Rutschman's backup. Stallings is likely to clear waivers, and if that happens, he would have the ability to elect free agency.

Stallings is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies. Stallings will rest Sunday after he went 1-for-5 with a run and an RBI while catching all nine innings of Saturday's 18-0 win. Alex Jackson will get the nod behind the plate in the series finale.
