  • Reds' Brent Suter: Picks up first save
    By RotoWire

Suter earned the save in Wednesday's 12-5 win over Houston, allowing one run on three hits over 3.1 innings. He struck out six. A Jon Singleton solo homer was the extent of the damage done off Suter, as the left-hander recorded the final 10 outs to earn the save in Wednesday's blowout victory. It's the first save of the year for Suter and just the second of his nine-year MLB career. Overall, Suter sports a 3.43 ERA with a 1.11 WHIP and 47:10 K:BB across 57.2 innings in a middle-relief role this season.

  • The Reds reinstated Suter (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Sunday. The veteran left-hander is ready to rejoin Cincinnati after a three-game minor-league rehab assignment, during which he allowed one run on six hits with four strikeouts and no walks over 4.2 innings. Suter has a 3.68 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 41:10 K:BB over 51.1 innings this season, and he should return to a middle-relief role now that he's healthy.

  • Suter (shoulder) has been sent to Triple-A Louisville to begin a rehab assignment. Suter has been shelved since late July due to a partial tear of his left teres major muscle but has been cleared for game action after completing a bullpen session earlier this week. The lefty reliever is expected to require at least three rehab appearances, so he could be looking at an early September return from the injured list.

  • Reds' Brent Suter: Good bullpen session
    By RotoWire

Suter (shoulder) had a good bullpen session Monday in Toronto and could begin his rehab assignment by the end of the week, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. "The international pen was solid. Not unbelievable, but solid," Suter said. "Felt real good." It's been previously reported that Suter will need three appearances on his rehab assignment, which pushes a potential return date to early September.

  • Suter (shoulder) will need at least three rehab outings before being activated off the 15-day injured list, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports. Suter had a successful throwing session Friday and is expected to begin a rehab assignment this week. He's ahead of the original projected return from a partial tear of the left teres major muscle.
