Tucker was outrighted to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday. Tucker was designated for assignment Monday and went unclaimed on waivers. He'll remain in the organization and return to Salt Lake, where he maintained a .962 OPS across 40 plate appearances earlier in the campaign.

The Angels designated Tucker for assignment Monday. Tucker will move off the 40-man roster while the Angels brought back infielder Brandon Drury (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Tucker saw his playing time steadily decrease over the last month as he struggled at the plate, slashing .180/.263/.300 over 57 plate appearances.

Tucker is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. Tucker made five consecutive starts at third base from May 5 through 9, but with the Angels having since acquired Luis Guillorme and returned Luis Rengifo from the injured list, Tucker's playing time has become more sparse. He's on the bench for the ninth time in the Angels' last 12 games, with two of his starts during that stretch coming in left field.

Tucker will start at third base and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports. Tucker will be making his fourth consecutive start Wednesday, with all coming at the hot corner. Luis Rengifo (illness) -- who is on the bench for a fifth straight game -- should eventually take over as the preferred option at third base once healthy, but the Angels could make room for the versatile Tucker elsewhere around the diamond or outfield while he remains productive at the plate. Since his April 29 call-up from Triple-A Salt Lake, Tucker has produced a .770 OPS over 21 plate appearances while stealing three bases in four attempts.

Tucker went 2-for-3 with a a double and a stolen base in Sunday's 4-1 loss to Cleveland. The Angels' offense was stagnant in the contest, but Tucker wasn't at fault -- he was the only player on the team with multiple hits, and he also knocked one of the club's three extra-base hits. The 2014 first-round draft pick added a stolen base in the fifth inning, giving him three thefts in only five games this season. Tucker isn't locked into an everyday role, but he's been productive when given the opportunity, slashing .417/.462/.583 through 13 plate appearances.
